Random thought I had the other day while playing Halo Wars. Which would win? Flood? Zerg? Flood has been know to topple entire civilizations, and Zerg are pretty good at infesting..... I dunno. I just don’t want to know what a Zerg/flood hybrid would look like

This is a fight I've always been interested in ever since I was a kid playing Halo and Starcraft since both factions are nearly identical. The Zerg assimilate other species into the swarm by basically stealing their DNA and all that jazz. Every Zerg creature you see except for a select few like the Defiler and Scourge used to be it's own animal before being turned into the killing machines that they are now. The Hydralisk for example used to be a peaceful herbivore species before wanting flesh and blood like they do now under the Zerg. Pre-Brood War Zerg has The Overmind, the massive entity that controls every Zerg Swarm and also can warp billions across the stars to travel to new worlds to infest. The Overmind has agents called Cerebrates which serve as field commanders. Each Cerebrate is different and provides each brood it watches over with various capabilities with psionic powers. The Overmind can't be killed with conventional weaponry. The Cerebrates can be killed with conventional arms but get reincarnated by The Overmind in a heartbeat. Not even the hardest-hitting Terran and Protoss weaponry could stop these things. If The Flood start to push the Zerg back, Abathur will more than likely develop newer strains of the Zerg we already have seen to be resistant to Flood infection and whatnot. Abathur's sole job is to constantly evolve the Zerg into better and more deadlier forms so it's only a short time before the Zerg will begin to push the Flood back. TL:DR The Zerg win because they have Kerrigan who is a literal God now because Blizzard went full on-anime with Starcraft 2 and ruined the entire storyline and every single character I grew up loving and admiring.

    • The Zerg are likely able to win so long as the Flood don't start snowballing. Zerg physiology is so redundant, they can survive having every limb blown off and walk it off in a few days. And that's just a Zergling. The only stumbling block the Zerg would really have against the Flood in the early game, is if they can't adapt their broods fast enough to fight off either infection or the various forms the Flood would send at them. And if there's a Keymind involved, well. The Zerg will probably just get whole-sale mind-controlled like what happened with the Overmind that originally governed them. Then the Flood would have a proxy, which is all kinds of horrifying.

I don't know man, I'm pretty sure the Zerg would win just by their sheer force and numbers alone. Btw when you mean the Infested, do you mean from Warframe or another game? Just want the specifics

I think it depends on what stage the Flood are at. Where are you putting the Flood at in this fight? Though even at their earlier stages I’d still put my money on them.

              • The Flood would win. It devours knowledge, flesh, and existence. It can even terraform worlds wether suited for life or not.

                    • I think it might be Zerg, as the collective would eventually adapt to flood infestation as the do to other things such as bullets and tanks. Not to forget that it’s possible for the Zerg to “out-infest” a world with the flood, meaning it would be close. Although, if a single flood infection form infects a zergling, it could corrupt an entire hive of Zerg and turn it against the collective of Zerg. So it would likely be the longest stalemate of all time, the ultimate tie.
