Cross platform should be a thing.
I think Bungie should add cross platform support similar to games like Gears of War 4 (GOW4) or Fortnite. Cross play for PVP is a hit or miss but for PVE I think it would be a good idea. Ideally like GOW4 people would have a symbol next to there name to indicate PC, XBOX, or PS4.

I hope they add it because being a PC and PS4 player is way too exhausting, because not only do you need to level your characters twice, you have to do it six times if you want to have all three characters on both platforms. I would go over to PC, but I have all my friend on the PS4, and I also got ALL of my triumphs, weapons, and armor on my PS4. On top of that, since I played D1, I have some emblems in my collection on PS4, but no-one will ever get it on the PC. I really hope that Bungie sees this and takes it in consideration forward

6 RepliesIt's not that Bungie doesn't want to do it, it's because PlayStation doesn't want to do it. Take Fortnite for example. When they started branching out to other consoles, they wanted to make their game compatible across multiple platforms. Everyone was on board except Sony. It's the same deal with Destiny. Unfortunately, cross platform support is something everyone must agree on, game developers can't just isolate one console while cross platforming all the others.

I wont play with pc people on ps4, pc users would have an unfair advantage, but i wouldnt mind playing against xbox players

At no point in any ps3 or ps4 game did I wish I could, for whatever reason, play against Xbox/pc players

I would be ok for cross platform with console but you would have to leave PC out of it. PC is nothing but easy mode and hackers.

As a controller user on PC, it doesn't matter a whole lot who I'm playing against, though my vertical tracking is pretty bad from overhead enemies. K/D ratio PvP hovers around 2:1, which is about all I aspire to in any PvP game. That said, I don't see an issue on a PvE level. People want to play with friends, and not every friend talked to each other ahead of time to decide what console they were playing. Glad Sony is opening the floodgates of cross-play, and hopefully we'll see it happen in Destiny eventually.

Nope, matchmaking, lag and servers now are already horrible. If cross platform was ever added (which it won't be) it would make everything 50 times worse. PS4 games are not meant to interact with Xbox games or pc games. They just aren't. I never understood why so many ppl are so obsessed with everything being cross platform and when it's not they get so bummed out over it. Every systems player base is massive to begin with, it does not need another 300,000 or 1mil players on top of the 300,000 or 1mil it already has. Cross platform only ever creates problems. It creates tons of ways for hackers, cheaters and exploiters to mess with the game.

This is not Bungie's call. It's MS and Sony that have to agree to cross-platform play.

I dont want crossplay with pc with any pvp games unless matchmaking is separated for people using mouse/keyboard.

As I just said in another thread on the subject the only thing that worries me is PS exclusive weapons. Could lead to imbalances in the crucible (it would have happened in D1 had CrossPlay been around in Hawkmoon’s dominant era) and that really is pushing the faces of Xbox players in the dirt if that was to happen.

I can’t downvote this enough. If you’re on console you DONT want to cross with PC... It won’t be fun. Ever notice the year one NF scores? Console doesn’t even come close to PC. I played on PC for years but grew tired of the constant upgrades needed just to play newer games. Fck Console vs PC. No TY. They do and I’m gone....
