ASCENDANT CHALLENGE WEEK 2 GUIDE
Just completed the Ascendant Challenge for week two so I decided to make this guide for those who struggle to find it and or complete it.
Obviously you're going to need the Tincture of Queensfoil to access this challenge, same as last week.
This challenge is located in the garden area, immediately to the right once you enter the Strand. Once you enter garden you are going to want to move left and head to the cliff and there you will find the portal to the ascendant realm where the week 2 challenge is held.
Once you enter, you will have 3 indicators on your screen telling you where 3 arc charges are. The objective is to collect all three charges and deposit them in the middle of the arena. This can be completed solo, as I did, but a fireteam is greatly recommended. As you're collecting the charges you will be confronted by loads of thrall and taken phalanxes. The large knights from week one will also be chasing you. Around the arena are blights that if stood inside, will slow you down and not allow you to jump. You can destroy these blights but I found it easier to just move around them. Once you have an arc charge and you are moving to the middle to deposit, about 4 phalanxes will spawn and try to knock you away from the middle. This is where a fireteam would be helpful but if you are playing solo, I avoided the phalanxes by luring them all away from the middle and then quickly running past them to deposit.
Once all charges are deposited, the screen will read that Toland lets light through the darkness. A well will spawn in the middle and when stood inside, will give you full super energy. The next and final step is to use your super to kill the large knights. I recommend super that either keep you mobile or a super that is one-and-done, i.e. cataclysm nova, blade barrage, hammers.
After all knights are down the chest will spawn and you will have completed the ascendant challenge for week 2. I reccomend a light level of about 520 for this because the phalanx shield blasts will one hit you if you are damaged by them.

Run and jump around and try not to get 1 shot. 2. Try to place balls in ball pit. 3. Get 1 shot by one of the 4 taken phalanx's shield blast that spawn every time you approach the ball pit. 4. After 3 balls in ball pit try to blow up knights with infinite supers. 5. Get one shot by something because even though you cleared all the trash more spawned already. 6. Keep trying to get your super back while 4 taken phalanx guard the pit and army of thrall + 4 angry knights chase you around the map. 6. Get 1 shot some more. 7. Kill 3 of the knights then get stuck on a tree or slowed by a blight by accident and then get 1 shot yet again. 8. Spend a week running back because the game spawned you back in The Conflux building again. 9. Pop new tinture because between you sucking and the game spawning you light years away the buff ran out. 10. Continue to be stubborn and not just get a fireteam til you finally beat it yourself. Get rewarded with another grenade launcher (you know the one), but despite it being a powerful drop it's still 3 levels below your best heavy.

Step 3 grab Ark charge and bring back to Middle. Step 4 repeat step 3 two more times. Step 5 jump in a tree or on a pillar and shoot the boss knights in the head. Extra info, run fast and Dodge shit.

I'm sure people noticed this by now, but if you have the bounty that requires you to kill knights while Ascendant, this is a good week to do it. Each successful run gets you three kills, and they're easy to kill with the infinite Supers.

1 ReplyAnyone notice the immune crystals beneath the stage? No idea what they are for... I went around after I got the chest and killed all the blights. The Crystal's were still immune.

1 ReplyThanks for the guide. Finally got it done after about a dozen tries, mostly fell off the map cuz I couldn’t see where I was going. I know the map pretty well now. Solo at 513. You can do it but you gotta jump always. Never be on the ground for very long if you can avoid it. I went as siege-breaker (solar titan). I thought the ability heals would help, and they did. Mainly with the last phase. Throw a thermite in the ground when going into the light to super up and you have a lot more forgiveness. Every once in awhile you get a bridge where you can’t get around a blight and a phalanx is spawning in. Save your frags for those moments unless you have some sort of buff or perk for faster spawning frags. Good guide 👍. A couple things I would add. Take the long way if you have to. There’s no timer so don’t feel rushed. But back tracking can get you killed quickly unless you have to. And for me personally, I found that there was always one orb up high when you spawn in. I saved that for last cuz it was easiest to get back to the center of the map from there to drop the orb-where you place the orb is directly under the largest blight in the room. It’s huge and is shielded. Good luck! And again, thanks for the guide cuz it helped just knowing where to go and what to do with the orbs.

Bow hunter with rigs is easy mode. You can invis before you drop the ball in and if you need to you can invis while running to get the balls to drop aggro. When you do the big fight you can tether like a mad man and never get hit by anything. Bungie this is not a call to nerf. Don't you dare!
