Questions Need Answers if anyone can

I have never played Destiny 2. I put a lot of time into the first game up until House of Wolves released because of things I absolutely hated in the game. My biggest complaint was the fact that anytime a patch, update, or dlc came out any guns you had maxed out already were reset and had to be re-leveled again. I cannot seem to find any answers regarding whether or not that is still in the game. So I wanted to ask is that still a thing? Or is it just an increase in level for weapons now to make them better instead of a full reset?

  • Well, as of Rise of Iron they have kept the same concept pretty much that your gear epic level or above can ALWAYS be increased to the highest light level as the patches come out. Currently we had a minor issue where the mods in all our guns became worthless and we lost 5 light points per item (big whoop), also they brought random rolls back to the game and made upgrading a bit more costly, so you probably WON'T be upgrading most old stuff to the highest level. But since you'd be starting out fresh I say, go for it! The game is great and the armor/weapons won't go obsolete again! (fingers crossed of course)
