Dont' ask for sub-fee based MMO service, if you aren't willing to pay sub-fee based MMO prices. I've gotten close to a thousand hours of play out of Destiny 2. How 'bout you?

Not saying many people are engaged in it, but a lot of triple A games are the same. Mediocre base game and dlc for days. Unlike many of the triple A games I've purchased, Destiny as a whole has been the only one to ever capture my interest this much, and I've played a lot of video games. Nothing gets me coming back like this series does for some reason. Every game I like more i play for a while after I beat it but maybe rarely come back to actually play it. My favorite series is dark souls, I've bought every game and every dlc. Get my 200 or so hours out of it but unless my friends want to play it again, I usually won't. It's not even because it has a lot of content, those games are just long, and I usually play through it again once or twice, and it sucks the series is done. Even though I can technically infinitely play it with increased difficulty it becomes more of a chore and not something fun. Beat dark souls remastered because I know everything about that game, beat the dlc I never got to play before, and haven't gone back. I'll probably play it more later in the summer though. Doesn't mean I always enjoy it, but I never have hated to play Destiny. And for 170$ this game can sustain me for another 2 years sounds pretty damn good to me. Those 3 games that I've bought WITH dlc only really last me a couple of weeks if we space it out a bunch, and even though it's my favorite series, I don't get that urge to come back and play it like Destiny gives me. My favorite game series only lasts so long before it gets boring to me, not that Destiny is an exception. If you don't like it, you won't get your money's worth, but since I do I've gotten my money's worth time and time again. If only real world entertainment could sustain themselves that long for 170$.

2 RepliesSo looking at the trailer from an objective point of view. You will see that they are changing the menu, adding another menu for "collections" and "lore". They are doing different supers and guns, and that's all nice and fine but, my problem with Destiny 2 was never the mechanics. Sure they released a game that felt halfway done, pinned on 2 DLC to it that should have just been part of the initial game and called it good. Now.. and I want to stress that NOW, after a year they finally have the "feedback" they need from players? Since day one the players have been begging Bungie not to bend them over like they have been. Dear Bungie, Stop -blam!- our wallets. The world looks good... congratulations. But there is no actual lore. You guys have created something so amazing to look at, with so many beautiful things inside this world, but they have no soul. No LORE. No story. It feels like every time you try to tell a story you knuckleheads give up a quarter of the way through. Then decide to fill the rest of the "content" with repetitive missions to unlock more "content". It's just busy work lets be real. I won't be buying the Forsaken DLC. These are changes that should have been patched. If you take away the added mechanics, you leave us with a new PvP mode and a raid. That's all.

for 170$ you can't even purchase a round of golf at Pebble Beach which would run you about $500 for 18 holes. The same can be said for St. Andrews old course where it would run you $250. Just to put it in perspective.

I got god of war. It sure a great a game but after 40 hours ive done everything. Destiny 2 seems expensive but after you've spent so much time on it and constantly having updates to make it better its not that bad.
