The infinite forest could have been a codex/grimoire
So if the Vex are all timey wimey, and we time travelled for the CoO DLC, why couldn’t you just let us travel back and see this lore that you included as an Osiris comic as a cool cutscene in game?
Imagine going through the infinite forest to go back to different points in time to see the lore of the wall being built, what was happening in the last city back then etc.
It would be like adding grimoire but in the form of cutscenes, THE INFINITE FOREST COULD HAVE BASICALLY BEEN A CODEX.

2 RepliesFor whatever reason, when players asked for an in game codex bungie said, "We hear you, we're listening to your feedback. Here's a comic book."

They could have made it to where Osiris is a librarian of sorts after the campaign and you could revisit him in the forest to gain bits of backstory/lore. They could have brought back the artifact system in a different way to where at the end of specific missions you got artifacts to bring back to him to place in the library and learn the lore behind it. But, this is Bungie so it will always remain minimal effort for maximum profit.
