The Jade Rabbit and it’s issue

Hey guardians, I’m sure all of you love that the jade rabbit made it in the game! But there is a pretty big problem surrounding the jade rabbit and it’s power behind it. It is simply just below average. I’ve done some experiments and tested the damage behind it. In statistics, the damage is really bad. The “fate of all fools” perk as well is just a glorified “handicap” that isn’t even decent. There isn’t much to say except that it is below average just all around. The only time I can get kills (with all critical hits btw) is the following: shooting in a team fight from a very large distance away, shooting before they do and they miss multiple shots, if they are on the “red” amount of health, and shooting someone while they are shooting at someone else. I also noticed with all of these examples, a standard legendary scout rifle could do the same if not better. I do not wish that this becomes buffed to the point that everyone uses it no matter what, but I do want it to become somewhat viable to people that not only played destiny 1, but just like the gun in general. If people are going to talk about and how it came back, it should at least be decent. I hope that all of you agree with me on this issue. UPDATE: I have been doing some more tests, I feel like to “up the power” on this gun, for every time you hit somebody, it would slightly bring up the fire rate, making it so that you would be rewarded with skilled precision shots. I believe that this is a great idea, but if this would be too much, then increasing the damage or preferably, the fire rate, would work really well UPDATE: Hey guardians, I really do appreciate the comments that you are leaving on this forum.   • I played with the jade rabbit fo the first time today and it was fantastic in my own opinion the new minor buffs they made on it from the recent patches must’ve helped it from the past mediocre reviews I’ve seen on it. I ended having a 2.67 KDR and killing two supers with it, I was very impressed on multiple front including nearly never having to reload in PvP scenarios where it matters.

  • The fate of all fools just gives you more damage while trying to always headshot but missing more often than not. It’s 1 shot less than d1 but you can still string conglomerate groups Take the jade and shoot a rock in the field. Take any other scout and do the same The jade rabbit returns to the exact same spot 100% of the time Others do not. The more you fire, the more your dead center mass is off. It still has poly barrel and uncanny aim assist And they will buff it - it needs hcr rounds here or a boost to hidden perks. Everyone overlooks the invisible perks . I’m a savage. I kill 30 or more all day I still do it but my best is 44. I still use jade even over garden prodigy and as is stands it’s a close call. The biggest reason you see a reduction in kill ability is because the maps are 1/3 the size of d1. They removed the holy shit that’s fn far . I mean the highest ranged gun in game is an auto rifle from new Monarchy with masterwork. It’s 99.95% Snipers have some of the lowest range stats in game Makes you wonder what destiny developers consume Hell of a drug ! “Rick James”

    • As always it's not the gun. It's the Guardian. If you can aim, you can kill. I have 0 issues with this weapon. The crucible problem is people crutching on the Mida for too long and losing skill with all other scouts. I avg. a 1.78 KD with the Jade Rabbit. Considering the online avg. KD of all combined players is .98 I would say that puts at as an above avg. gun. BTW the perks for this particular weapon were designed for PVE not PVP.

    • Jade Rabbit isn't designed for PVP. You're using it wrong. In a PVE boss fight.... It's quite nice. Body shot X4, headshot, and you'll never have to reload. It's all damage all the time. Just keep shooting.

      • NO, i dont like it's back. I bought the frickin game for NEW content. Its sad, they dont even know how stupid it makes them look. Gamers have more then one braincell, they will find out soon enough when the next game is in sale.

        • The issue is Jade Rabbit has always sucked! Stability is trash! Now it's a non-issue. When you have scouts like Nameless-Multi-Tool & Mida Midnight, who gives a shit about J/Rabbit? Even Call to Serve is better!

Just another example of how lazy Bungie is in making D2. As for your concerns about the usefullness of the gun, it is crap you’re right about that. But so is 95% in this game.

            • It was made on par with the rest of the lackluster weapons and armor in the game. And sadly, rather than new and interesting weapons, so much crap is coming back from D1, albeit in a very watered down and ho hum form. Bungie at it's finest ....

              • While I don't have the weapon myself, thank RNG for all the Fighting Lions and Hard Lights, I do as well with High Impact Scouts as I ever did in D1. Garden Progeny 1 is my go-to, but Song of Justice VI, Skyburner's Oath, Frontier Justice and Haunted Earth have all been used to success. I don't really see the problem people have with the archetype regarding the slowness or damage, all times-to-kill are pretty much the same across all archetypes and even across weapon types (excluding Sidearms and SMGs). Even at that, The Jade Rabbit seems to earn more criticism than average despite functioning the same as its competitors in said archetype. Sure, they offer very little reward for the precision they demand but they're by no means bad. Maybe I'll only understand this post fully when I actually own The Jade Rabbit, possibly in five weeks' time when it's inevitably the only possible drop from a Fated Engram.

                  • Oddly enough all the really good pvp players I know when the lens was dominating pvp last week (before the nerf) were all stating the only thing that would beat them out was a jade rabbit user...

                    I agree, considering how slow the time to kill is, the slow firing hard hitting scouts and pulse rifles seriously don't compete with anything running around in the crucible ATM. That being said - the Rabbit was always a more PVE centric gun. For hard hitting scouts I really miss my Colovance's Duty :C

                  • If it were up to me, I would raise the rpm to 160 and have the headshots and a body with the perk would kill.
