Prometheus is actually good in PvE
Not overpowered, but good. It is great for taking down adds, because a kill basically reloads the gun. Kill-kill-kill-kill just like that.
DO NOT ruin this weapon's PvE capabilities for the sake of your PvP.

Bungie have confirmed that the gun is going to be nerfed beyond belief. They also say they will address the ridiculous nerf in a January patch

I played a few matches last night for the first time since CoO came out. I forgot about reading that everyone is using it. I go into a match and think everyone is afk because I hear no gunfire. I find my first victim in a rift and waste him with sunshot. Then I died instantly. Oh yeah! Everyone is using this gun. Pulled mine out and started playing some laser tag

I also agree that Prometheus Lens is great in PvE just the way it is now.

This reminds me of a time in destiny 1 where shotguns got nerfed to the ground in PvP but in PvE, they got buffed by adding 300% damage! It was the ultimate boss shredder.

I dont know how to explain this better than bungie already did. But ill try. PvP = dmg bug . PvE= no dmg bug. In PvP it hits 3 x per bullet.

People seem to forget that it's bugged period, PVE or PVP, and it's getting fixed soon. It's a nifty gun that I will keep using, but it's bugged regardless of what you're using it for. PVP is a joke with it right now, though. Especially if you get a group where people can't equip it because of their levels and the other team has four of them. You're getting roasted.

It's to good and needs a huge nerf! And I'm a guy that doesn't believe in op weapons(only op players). But the way this gun is, why use anything else? No, really, why?

It's mediocre and kills slower than just firing with a uriels. It's not getting nerfed in PvE at all either so eh.
