Year 1 was the best hands down. I'd rather have unbalanced but fun pvp than pvp that tries to be balanced but not fun. After year 1 the game slowly went downhill for me. I got tired of weak weapons and crappy RNG. I just gave up. I deleted destiny a few months ago. I just redownloaded it to play with some friends. I hopped into a rift match and I was instantly reminded of why I left. As for the beta you're right about it being more balanced yet everything is watered down. It was fun but it didn't fully grab enough attention to preorder. If I buy d2 it'll be a disc copy so I can get my money back if it's total trash. That's IF I buy it. Destiny started off being awesome but ended up making me sick of fps. I still play them from time to time but not like that anymore.

Oh man you're basically describing my last year with Destiny. The love being lost but returning to it to play with friends and maybe recapture some of the magic I once had with the game and being reminded right away while I left.

If I come back to d2 my pvp play style will never be serious. I can't take crucible seriously. The constant need to balance the game drove the fun right out of it. It narrowed the skill gap and killed a casual style of play. In order to get good you have to be playing the game more. In order to get those magic rolls you have to be constantly on till RNG lucks out. And knowing how shitty my luck was. O finally get a god roll matador and longbow but AFTER special ammo was taken away. I can't seem to stay alive long enough to even use the 3 shots the bricks give you. Hand cannons were fixed in February but broken by march. I just gave up. I said -blam!- it. Before the hand cannon buff in February I was grinding for the perfect luna roll. Then hand cannons came back and I was having some fun. Then it came down to really needing range finder and rifled barrel by march. And I still haven't gotten one. I gave up on a game with a shitty loot system. People bitched about thorn yet you could get it if you had the bounty in year 1. It's a lot better than waiting for the game randomly give you a luna with perfect rolls. There should have been a way to get loot besides RNG but not take away any grinding.
