I don't want to trigger you or anything, but I think the gameplay in NieR is not so great. Not saying it's bad, but I found it rather repetitive after a while, particularly the 9S segments.

But I have no issues with 2Bs or A2s combat. I find them rather enjoyable. Besides, NieR is a story driven game, it doesn't have to rely on great combat to be a great game.
