Blink Needs Some Love

With the most recent Patch, Blink got another significant nerf, further plunging it into obscurity. It's anti player mechanics such as the extremely loud activation sound, slow activation speed, and lackluster distance/height makes for an awful choice in terms of player movement. Although the Recovery nerf from a couple patches ago is getting repealed, it's definitely not enough to make me (or anyone) choose Blink over any other movement ability. Blink needs some love, and here are my suggestions for a better Blink. Change #1; Increased Distance In PvP, certain maps such as Sector 618 and Vertigo sport distances far too long for Blink users to traverse, making Blink literally a hindrance to the user. To solve this problem, an increase to the distance Blink carries the user would benefit the user extremely, allowing them to traverse the environment how they wish. Change #2: Decreased Activation Time The speed at which Blink activates is abysmal in it's current state. The time it takes for you to move from one location to another can be easily traversed faster and less dangerously with Titan Skating, a movement not even listed officially as a part of the Titan's movement kit. Blink needs to carry the user from Point A to Point B faster than an unofficial movement technique, and with less risk, leading into my next point. Change #3: Return Immunity Frames to Travel Animation This may be a point of contention, seeing as how most of the people who know how immunity frames work are typically the sticky grenade users. Sticky grenades have (as of 3/2/17) no official counter. Due to the Primary focussed meta and loss of shotgun viability, an over abundance of CQC engagements have devolved into who can get off their Sticky Grenade faster. To help Bladedancer's chances of survivability in it's desired range, adding immunity frames to Blink's travel animation would be a good start at giving Bladedancer a much needed buff.

  • I think the best thing to do would be increase base jump height (the jump before the blink) while blink is selected.

  • The only thing it needs is faster activation and weapon ready time after blink. It would even be ok if they kept some radar change and recovery penalty. No ability needs immunity frames, so no on that suggestion.

      • I would love for immunity frames to come back, but for PvE. It would make shotgunning/ using a sword against a boss in strikes/ patrols more viable. But yeah, the upcoming changes are not enough. The latest nerf should be completely undone. The recovery penalty is whatever to me, but I main a warlock so it doesn't impact me quite as hard as it does a hunter. I do want to see either a reduced cooldown or a real increase in travel distance (it would be an insult of they increased the distance traveled by some joke amount.... Like .04%)

      • They should just remove all nerf done to blink exept the cooldown one
