I've always felt that of different types of special weapons out there (including sidearms), fusion rifles have always been lacking. Not saying that they are ALWAYS bad, just that shotguns, side arms, and snipers are almost always more consistent in their time to kill and fitting into where they work best. Maybe instead of nerfing shotguns, Bungie should just make fusion rifles stats a bit different so that they have more of an area of expertise as compared to their current status of all around "meh". I also feel that bringing up fusion rifles could and probably would break down the meta for shotguns, and have more of a balanced meta of shotgun/fusion players.
