Terrible idea.
You have absolutely no technical knowledge on what it takes to maintain a service like this.
Never mind the time and manpower (that they don't have) to implement something like this.
God you millennials that think you can just throw a switch and do things.

Edited by thedandymancan: 1/20/2017 7:02:15 PMSimmer DOWN bub. Guy just had an idea he wanted to share. No need to berate and belittle him (the "millennials" jab). So it may not be feasible, that doesn't excuse acting like a jerk.
-
Sometimes it does. A good reality slap in the face motivates people to think before they post.
-
No, it doesn't excuse acting like a jerk. Sure, some people really need a "reality slap in the face", but the OP did nothing to provoke your nastiness. It's easy to talk a big game on the internet, but how many of us would really say some of the things we say to people's faces? A little kindness goes a long way bub.
-
I've been a forum goer for much longer than most. I'm well aware what it takes to stir conversation vs drop kicking it. The OP suggestion is so for being the reality of what can happen right now that is boils over with ignorance. So yes it was deserving.
-
Still disagree. One can point out the flaws in someone's reasoning without being condescending or belittling. Also, how long someone has been a part of these forums means little to me. One can have walked this earth for most of a century and still lack basic manners.
-
I could have done that and I do it quite often. But when the idea lacks any basic knowledge of how game development works you just call it for what it is.
-
That is such a mellinial thing to say

Just trying to speak their language.

Really? Are you saying the gun data becomes incompatible between gun patches? Plausible, but that would be a complete rewrite of all the guns code for ever patch, which would be very poor coding practice. If that were the case, Bungie might want to hire a new head developer.
-
I don't think it's incompatible persay but your talking about very different weapon behaviors in some cases. Especially the Y1 weapons. Even aside from that they do not have the an power involved on D1 right now to do something like this. All these grand ideas are impossible at this point.
-
But y1 guns do work today. How do y1 guns differ from y2? They have much the same perks, just a different perk tree layout. They have a lower light level cap. And they are re-rollable. What patches have affected any of that?
