I got banned because of update 2.5.0

Dear Bungie I got home at 5pm today and loaded up destiny in preparation for the dawning update. I had a game of crucible, and played a strike for the radiant treasure, and then the update hit. Then when I returned after downloading it I got hit with a van hammer. 2 weeks of crucible ban and that even includes private matches....I can't play srl for the dawning event when it is 50% of it due to an unexplained ban hammer...I've also lost gear, weapons and emblems due to this and ive been set back to 280 light on 2 characters. This is ridiculous, i dont care about any crucible but srl and private matches is different. These is limited time. There is no point in playing this game if I'm being restricted from half of it. I know I have bad internet, and i know it's clearly to do with it, but why ban people from stuff for about a month's duration. I'm sorry I can't afford a good download. Im sorry I can't afford a great connection. Please consider the fact that not everyone is privileged enough to have great everything. In the UK it costs about £100 initially to set up a good internet connection with about £40 a month after that I can't afford that right now. I'm sorry I can't but I request one thing. Please just once, can my account LegitimateTB (Xbox) be unbanned just for the dawning. Permanent ban me after i dont care but restricting me from events is wrong. And definitely banning people due to internet connection without warning is also wrong. Please read and help me out here guys, Becuase you are about to loose one unhappy player who has spent lots of money on this game and treat it like it's part of my life. Thank you for any help you give, any questions please ask me, I'd like to get this resolved as soon as possible...

  • Bungie doesn't discuss or lift restrictions until they've expired, per their policy. https://www.bungie.net/7_Destiny-Account-Restrictions-and-Banning-Policies/en/Help/Article/11929

You admit to having poor internet, and due to that fact you have a restriction - I doubt it was a ban. This game requires a persistent premium data connection in order to play - not just bandwidth, but also low latency and zero packet loss. You affect everyone else's game if you go in with poor internet to PvP matches. I doubt it had to do with the update since they analyse the issues after reports come in over a period of time, but having a consistent poor connection will have caused the trigger to get pulled eventually - I think it was just coincidence. This is not a game for low feed, high latency connections. You can still play portions though with basic internet. Many people play PvE only or private match games and still enjoy the game.

    • Goodbye, and good riddance! Thankfully you will not be able to ruin any other players Dawning! I hope you don't get it fixed, and the next time is a permanent ban! People like you are the reason they have to have a ban in the first place.

      • dude, you caused your own issue.. we don't want to play with you when you can't afford internet that is on par with the rest of us.. you will likely continue to get bans if you don't upgrade your internet and if you don't, hopefully the next time it will be a console ban.

        • "I got banned because of update 2.5.0" - No you, did not. You apparently got banned for an unstable connection. "...unexplained ban hammer"- see above " I know I have bad internet, and I know it's clearly to do with it"- see above "But why ban people for about a months duration?"- To give people time and incentive to straighten out their internet/connection As for asking to be unbanned for a particular event, that kind of defeats the point/purpose of the punishment. Laggy players ruin SRL as much as any crucible game mode. That stupid stuttering fan on Mars was ridiculous, and most likely caused by laggy connections. You're just going to have to wait it out, and do everything you can in the meantime to improve your connection. The Dude Abides

        • Actually bungie has given us NINE warning in NINE different weekly updates that they will restrict players if their Internet causes issues for other players.
