Ok, so this is basically how I came about purchasing Destiny. It was September 9th 2014, the day Destiny was released. and I was on the train with my father. We was spending time together exploring new places. My friend text me saying there was an amazing new game just released and that I should download it (Yes I download games due to my past psycho GF breaking my disks). I looked on the XBOX store on my app to see how much it was and I went for the highest price which was £84.99, as you do. I remember clicking purchase and I was getting constant error after error. It took a good few attempts for Destiny to be purchased. I thought it would never purchase!
Ok, so there I was on a train miles away from home having just purchased Destiny. But that wasn't enough. I wanted to play as soon as I got home but my XBOX was at my grans house, who was 83 years old. I had no choice but to call her and ask her to turn on my XBOX and set it to download. It took a good 45 minutes for me to guide her from how to turn on the XBOX and set Destiny to download. I know it seems like a lot of hassle, but when I got home it was all worth it! The thrills I got from Destiny was overwhelming and unreal.

I was sitting at the console playing it at release. Then stared at disbelief on how the game was not what was promised.

I was at work didnt really like fps games so never really heard about destiny. Wife gave birth to our second child beginning of November 2014, about 3 days in to my leave I became bored so went to the local game shop seen it on the shelf turned it over half expecting another generic FPS but had a scifi look to it and I liked the Mass Effect games so I bought it.
-
Literally fighting someone for the last copy on the shelf. Unfortunately I lost, however, the guy behind the counter gave me the game download code for free. Lol
-
A few days after the release I was walking by a GameStop with the wife. I said " can I buy a game ". At this point I recall wasn't into games. I'd play the occasional sports game and that's about it. She said yes so we walk into store. My cousin who works at GameStop just happened to be covering a shift at that store. He talks me into destiny and now I'm still addicted.
-
I actually started my first day at Gamestop (second time working for them) for the midnight launch of Destiny.

Somewhere in North America.

Edited by Nitey9: 10/13/2016 8:41:02 PMAt work. Went to two Game Stops, and a Best Buy before I finally found the PS4 Bundle with Destiny at Target. That was the day I got my white PS4!
-
Went to GameStop to get another copy of Skyrim because mine was broken... The annoying clerk "suggestive sold" me on Destiny, practically held a gun to my head... Anyways I've got nearly 2,500 hrs into it now, between both consoles, I don't know if I should go back and thank them, or punch them in the face, the feeling varies from day to day...

At my old town that I lived in. Gamestop had this grand release and we had a halo2 competition. Brother and I of course signed up. Now. Ive competed in many local tournaments and one grander one overseas for various games. Unreal tournament, street fighter, halo, cod. I loved competing (and bummed i never will again). We used to run doubles together all the time through our halo career so this was a decent idea. Wish it was doubles but it ended up being rumble until the bracket had the last 4 people. . Unfortunately when we opened the game they told us we couldn't change any controller settings. I was stuck on sensitivity 1 with a control scheme I didn't use. -.- I managed to get second in that round but didn't progress. My brothers round started and the person overseeing the "tournament" let them change the settings this time. Needless to say I was pissed. Anyway I went to cool down and grab food for everyone since we still had 2 hours before midnight. Came back to find my brother in the finals against this kid who "Oh I don't want that lame ass destiny game. I'm good at halo and will win this just for the fact none of you could get the expansion pass" on top of it he bashed the fact I was military, a female. And made a point to hate whatever anyone else enjoyed doing. I remember looking at my brother and we shared a small moment of knowing. I've seen him when he has a set mind to beat someone. Needless to say this kid (who was about 19) didn't stand a chance. The game was simple, first to three rounds won. My brother won the first three rounds. Two rounds with no deaths. After he was given the expansion pass, the kid started raging and fully left after a "I let you win. I don't even know why I'm here in the first place." Everyone there had a laugh, we left with lots of goodies and went home to download our game. Tldr: Halo tournament the night of destiny release. Brother made a kid rage, we won. Had a grand time.
