You do realize that the one treasure a week is something you should be grateful for. The cosmetics from Radiant Treasures are definitely not something you should "deserve." They are a cosmetic item not a game breaking weapon or armor piece. If you don't have the money to down or don't want to spend it then you're not missing out on anything. Your character will still look cool anyways and it's not gonna hinder progress.

  • Bungie probably realized they weren't making a profit margin, that's why.

  • It does if you want something specific, like say the Days of Iron Ornament or any of the Hawkmoon, Zhalo, or any other ornaments. I, for one, want all of the Days of Iron gear to have the Ornament, but I have spent almost $600 just to play Destiny. I bought a PS4 to play, I was already established in PS3, but I wanted RoI. Pay and hope to RNGesus that you get what you want is what this is. If you think it isn't, then you are sorely mistaken.

Not after they were on veery single roi trailer, if the only way to get them would have been thru microtransactions they would have had a riot here. If they could have gotten away with it, they certainly would have done it.

  • The issue is these are very similar to the sterling treasures that we just had. That system of 3 per week was fair and acceptable. Why change it for the new DLC? Because they spent a lot of time hyping the ornaments and figure people will be more frustrated with collecting them and spend more money this way. Seems kind of cheap on their part is all. Then add in the ability to buy from Xur but the price is ridiculous.

  • I would agree with you except they advertised the new customized gear heavily in the trailers and marketing for ROI. I've re watched all of those videos and not once is there a disclaimer stating that some content would require additional in game purchases or be available via ever-verse. At this point it is hidden behind severely time gated RNG drops or a paywall. Technically it's false advertising but no one will sue, they will just vote with their dollars in the future. I know I for one will never preorder a Bungie game again due to the repeated false representations of content in Destiny to this point.

  • Honestly, you can't characterize it as false advertising. Sorry. They advertised ornaments and the ornaments exist. Therefore, not false advertising by any means. Also, they did not specify anything in the ads about how or how often you'd be able to obtain those ornaments. Again, not false advertising. I'm not saying I agree with Bungie's methods, just that there's nothing illegal here and anyone who honestly tried to pursue it would be laughed out of court.

  • Harvard Law Library- defined term "False Advertising"- Section C- Hidden fees can be a way for companies to trick the unwary consumer into paying excess fees (for example tax, shipping fees, insurance etc.) on a product that was advertised at a specific price as a way to increase profit without raising the price on the actual product. Section N- Bait and Switch- Bait and switch is a deceptive form of advertising or marketing tactic generally used to lure in customers into the store. Once they do, the store/company will then try to sell something that is more expensive and valuable than what they originally advertised. If you forward your original response to where ever you received your law degree, I think you would have a pretty strong case for a refund.

  • Let me open with this: Google searches don't make you a lawyer. Next, Section C... There are no hidden fees involved because the weapon ornaments weren't ever advertised as anything other than a feature of the DLC, a feature you have access to without paying any additional fees unless you specifically choose to. Then, Section N... This would also not apply because you aren't being asked to pay a more expensive price for Rise of Iron than it was originally advertised as. Again, ornaments were advertised as a part of the expansion, not given a specific price as a separate feature. Again, I'm not judging the ethics of Bungie's decisions here, I'm simply stating that you can't allege a crime when none exists, and you can't substantively prove a crime has been committed through a Google search. I'd compliment your efforts at disproving my argument, but then I'd be lying.

  • The problem with "Voting with your dollars" is that streamers and youtubers constantly do "opening 30 teasures at once" videos and people with more money than brains buy 20, 30, 40$ of silver or more and blow them all on treasures and still dont get what they were after.

  • It's true. I realize this on an intellectual level but I am one those people cursed to point out wrongs no matter how ineffectual my efforts. My honesty has lost me some promotions in the past but on the bright side, I sleep very well at night.
