Think my favorite weapons for PvE are the normal greataxe, greatsword, and dragonslayers axe.
The weapon is use the most in PvP is the big gold hammer. I'm pretty bad at PvP but for some reason I do pretty well with that. It also just makes me laugh every time I use it.

Smoughs hammer? Ive never tried it. The only hammer i used (in ds2) was dragon tooth. That was one of my mains but in 3 i just cant use hammers at all.

Yeah that's the one. It takes some getting used to but it's really fun to use.
