  • Halo 2 was the first "Violent" videogame I ever owned. My older brother's friend got it for him for Christmas without asking my Mom first, and because of the fact that the game was really only rated mature because of the flood (which weren't all that bad), it helped her to realize that not all Mature games were bad and that it should be evaluated on a game by game basis. I never had Live till Halo 2 though, so I have little memories of Halo 2 Multiplayer. I would have loved to play on the final day of Halo 2, but I am in college, without an Xbox, so my Older Brother ghost-played for me on my account, which made me happy, as now he has some unique memories I'll never have. Maybe some day we could get together at PAX or something and rig up a system link game for old times sake...

  • My favorite Halo 2 memory might be a little different from others... During the summer of 2006, my dad's cancer returned. Now before I go on, I know this is the Internet and some people will unfortunately not take this seriously. I understand. I was 15 at the time and completely shocked. Needless to say, I had no idea of what to do. For the remainder of the summer, I had to stay at home during weekdays because I had to hold down the house. My father eventually died in August of that summer. To this day, I don't know if I could have gotten through those 3 terrible months without playing Halo 2 with my best buds. That's why I love this game.

  • I remember when I first got Halo 2, me and my friends would always be squinting at a small screen divided into four smaller screens trying to play an epic sword game. I also recall the sword being the weapon that was always rushed due to its insane dominence on Lockout. I mean, back in late '04 / early '05 were the times when me and my buddies wouldn't pay attention in school. We were always talking about Halo 2. I mean, there was just some magic to the game that made it so fun and addicting... even with its unpolished look. It was pure magic. For some reason, some of the magic of gaming is lost whenever you switch to an HD TV... LAN party, anyone?

  • oh gawd! it's over. i still don't know how to handle it. i started waaay back in the day a little after launch when i was around mmmm..... 9, on the origonal x-box. when halo 3 came out 4 the 360 i was so blown away by all the new features (forge theatre ect.) that i unconciously abandon good Ol' halo 2 and untill last month when i herd the server was shutting down i hadn't touched the game. after being informed that it would be shut down i promptly popped in the game, compleeted the campaign 2 times over and went to work in matchmaking on my original account (it just felt better that way). i logged a bunch of games within this month and started about a couple days ago with my new account on my journey to get 777 kills and 777 deaths although i already had around 600 kills and about 200 deaths so i had lots of dying to do! once i got up to my 777 kills i just started going into matches and getting slaughtered. i soon arived at my 777 deaths last night and i wish i would have took my time b/c now im on the "zombie server" and still able to play but i dont want to ruin what i worked so hard 4 and ruined my 3.something k/d for so now i sit and wait on halo 2 as one of the last 50 and cant play. but, i'll be here until i am forcefully removed via them shutting down the "zombie server" or my xbox getting the RROD woah i kinda started to just rant, lol i do that sometimes but, to get to your question my favorite things about halo 2 were kind of the small things that added up to make the game so great. i also like all the map animation ( i mean who dosn't think a train going a hundred mph in a MP map is cool?) BESIDES THAT these last couple weeks have been my favorite. as much as i hate to see it go, the humpday and the comunity that was left and were truly there b/c they loved the game started showing more and more BTW, thank you bungie for the experience and the humpday i got to play with brownV who is, from my understanding, a environmental artist? and phurion IN THE SAME GAME! what are the chances? + i got to meet greenskull from R.U.L who i ended up befriending all in all it was a great game and experience. it will truly be missed you say "im awesome for being in the final 50" i say " no BUNGIE your awesome for being the greatest game developers ever" [Edited on 04.16.2010 3:19 PM PDT]

  • Halo 2 was simply a unique experience because it changed Xbox Live forever. I'm happy for everyone who got to experience Halo 2. I'll never forget the intensity of not wanting to loose that pretty looking symbol that everyone received after ranking up. Believe it or not, those colored, numbered icons contributed so much to a highly competitive online experience. Thanks Bungie

  • I remember when I first got Halo 2. It was the day before Christmas Eve, and I had my 3 best friends over (sadly I don't talk to any of them anymore). We were playing Halo CE all day, and that night we all started begging my dad to let me open one present, (We basically knew my dad got me Halo 2.) So after a while of begging my dad gave me a present, and I opened it. It was a box of chocolates. We were so disappointed, we just started playing Halo 1 again. About 30 minutes later I decide to open up the box of chocolate, and there it was... [url=http://media.teamxbox.com/games/ss/472/1090429546.jpg]The best present of all time.[/url] We were so happy, we spent that whole night and most of the next day playing that game, it was so much fun. It just makes you miss all your old friends and all the good times that you just wish you could relive one more time. RIP Halo 2, though I'm still playing it right now. :)

  • So. Many. GIFs. At. One. Time! Halo 2 multiplayer was truly one of the greatest experiences of all time for me. I was underage by seven years, but we were simply inseparable. I first got the taste of its goodness at a friend's house. At the time, the only sort of gaming console I had was a Nintendo 64. When I first laid my eyes on Halo 2, though, I knew I had to have it. From thereon, I saved, and I saved any money that came my way. Until, finally, I had enough. And the rest, is history.

  • Sadly I wasn't apart of the Halo 2 Community. I got H2 back in April of ('08 or '09) and really enjoyed the multiplayer & Campaign Experience. It was awesome to see the Community rally together for this great game. I saw quite abit of Community Members.

  • my favorite memory of Halo 2 was before i even had live. Me and my friends use to play the heck out of this game. We would system link our Xbox's and play till we were tired. Thxs Bungie for the good times. Also saw that the 14th was the last day so i played it up before it went offline and still playing as we speak :P.

  • The first game I played on xbox live and definately the best. Playing Tower of Power was awesome, with epic battle on the walkway as we thought to take the tower. Trying to score the bomb when the timer had hit sudden death also made for some awesome moments as your team battled on for one last point. [Edited on 04.16.2010 3:36 PM PDT]

  • Before Halo 2 I just played RTS's on our PC. Then a friend told me he bought this really awesome game which I then got hooked on till Halo 3. I spent hours upon hours round his house, and others, and we even had a few lan parties. Though it was several years later when my parents finally let me get an xbox, if it wasn't for Halo 2 I wouldn't even own one. Playing Halo 2 one last time was truly amazing and I got to have a few last great games. So thank you Bungie, for the memories.

  • Good times... As much as Halo 1 revolutionized the FPS genre, this game revolutionized online gaming on consoles. This game has so many good memories. Marathon custom games like zombies, tower of power, and hog wars. Even sessions of escaping maps and exploring them. Maps that are unmatched by any other video game. Customs were fun, whether they were with friends from real life, or Bungie community members. The matchmaking system was incredible. When I had free time, I could just play matchmaking and not be bored. The multiplayer was fun, had variety, and was quick. The game lasted years, before the era of buying a game so much more often. For a couple years, Halo 2 was solidly played as the standard Xbox game It is a game I will miss... RIP Halo 2 [Edited on 04.16.2010 3:55 PM PDT]
