You're assuming that everyone who doesn't like Call of Duty or Destiny or everyone who loves Battlefield 1 is just on a bandwagon.

People who follow trends never realise they're just following trends. They literally always wholeheartedly believe their opinions are entirely self-formed. The only way to know if you're a bandwagoner or trend follower is to compare your opinions and interests to those set by major bandwagons, and see how similar they are. Otherwise, people will always believe their opinions are truly entirely their own.
-
Again, you are assuming that if someone's opinion is the same as a lot of other people's, it is a bandwagon.

Edited by Auttumnnnn: 9/3/2016 7:38:16 PMOnly if their opinions are the same as a lot of bandwagons, absolutely. To say otherwise, I believe, is simply incorrect.

Edited by Psychic Donuts: 9/3/2016 7:43:22 PMYou are assuming that since people don't think a way that others do, they are just following a bandwagon. Not true. Just because someone agrees with something does not mean they are agreeing to follow a trend.
-
No, but if one agrees with with a large number of trends, I do believe they are a bandwagoner and don't realize it. That's all there is to it. You keep saying the same things, and so do I, so this discussion is pointless.
-
A band wagoner is someone that does something only because it is popular. If I play call of duty by myself, don't watch any reviews, don't listen to anyone talk and form my own opinion and it matches the opinions of other people that hopped on only because they saw that it's one of the most popular games in the world does not make me a band wagoner. The definition you are using is wrong.
-
That's obviously what a bandwagoner is, yes, but there's no way to know objectively why someone likes something. And as I said, no one who is a bandwagoner will ever believe they are. So this is the only somewhat accurate way to decide who is and isn't. The more trends someone follows, the more likely it is that they're a trend follower. They'll never know for sure, and nobody else will either. But that's the best way to make a judgement.
-
With your thinking, everyone is just part of a bandwagon no matter that their opinion is because there will always be someone else there who thinks the same way
-
The difference is what the majority opinion and what the majority opinion isn't. That's the point. Obviously there will be plenty of others who share your opinion on things.
-
Just because someone agrees with another person does not mean they aren't thinking for themselves.
-
I agree.

Edited by Psychic Donuts: 9/3/2016 11:37:03 PMSo you are agreeing with me in the fact that just because someone agrees with an opinion does not mean they are following a bandwagon? Why the change of heart?
