If it wasn't for the grenade-tracking-cancel ability of shadestep, I wouldn't mind shadestep being infinite. Blink however does not cancel grenade-tracking. And as someone else pointed out, it is a double jump. The only double-jump that doesn't reset simply by touching the ground.

  • I really don't think it should be infinite like 'The Division', but it shouldn't be 1, if blink is 2. Blink has a vertical benefit of evading, where the hunter as you said doesn't get hit by all tracking grenades. I'm not too sure about axion bolt tho, those I've always had to use 'Bones of Eao' to evade those rather than shadestep... It's not that I want "blink" nurfed it's that "shade step" wasn't really that over powered compared to blink to begin with those 2 perks on their own competed quite fairly. The Titan was already quick in the air if you use the right armor to agility ratio, especially if you know how to spam the jump button for initial boost manipulation for extra speed. I feel that really they just did it because they nurfed the titan in terms of the garrison being the same button to activate, even tho the garrison perk is native to the garrison armor itself & isn't a legit perk on the subclass tree. I'm not trying to ruin the teleportation, I'm just trying to fix shadestep, because many people who main a hunter still weren't going 9&0 with them as they would with a Warlock or Titan. Even tho such wasn't their main. But yeah, I admit I'll have to look into the axion against shadestep, although axion is considered to be the laziest grenade in the game, and hated by many.

It most certainly cancels all tracking on any grenade. That is my PRIMARY reason for saying one shadestep is enough. It's annoying as -blam!- to have somebody keep canceling your grenade tracking when you only get one nade every 40 seconds or so. You take away the tracking-cancel, and I don't care how many times you wanna shadestep. But as long as the tracking cancel is there, one shadestep is the only fair tradeoff.

  • One could equally argue that it's just as annoying when people depend on Tracking grenades like such too... That's seriously so lazy.. Much like how using Gjallarhorn was lazy, because it did all the work because of it's tracking ability.

Much like how using Gjallarhorn was lazy, because it did all the work because of it's tracking ability.[/quote] The difference is, shadestep is only available to one subclass, of one class. Whereas, 5 of the 9 subclasses have tracking grenades. It's a mechanic that was well intended to be in the game, and an option that everyone but Titans has. Gjallarhorn is an option that everyone has. Shadestep? You have to be a hunter, and you have to be a Hunter Nighstalker. Everyone can get a weapon or grenade that tracks, but only 11% can throw off said tracking. That screws with the balance of tracking grenades, that renders them almost useless against a nighstalker. So it only makes sense to make such a powerful mechanism a limit.
