Titans, I think I have a solution to the Shoulder Charge dilemma. Can I get your opinions? (Poll)

FIRST THINGS FIRST
I don't want to see you guys nerfed. However, with things the way they are now, the forum babies will begin to cry nerf on your Shoulder Charge which will restart the horrible domino effect that is, "Every class trying to nerf the other one".
My suggestion is a simple one. I don't want your perk nerfed but it's been abused lately. So I've been thinking of ways to balance it and finally hit me.
We don't need to nerf the target acquisition or the distance, we don't need a cool down timer, we don't need it to take up an energy charge, and we certainly don't need to stop 1hitKOing.
However, to stop another nerf war from happening would guys agree to putting a -1 Armor effect on Shoulder Charge?
It uses the same principal of the perk Blink, in that it has a -1 Recovery Stat attached to it.
This would stop Titans who are abusing it from just running around relying solely on SC, giving other Guardians a chance to stop them before they use it.
SC should be used I'm situations where you turn a corner and intercept a guardian who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It shouldn't be used as a discount pseudo shotgun. You shouldn't be running up to an enemy Guardian who is 100yrds. away, with the intent that you're going to shoulder charge them, rather than use the guns in your hand.
So I'll ask again, to prevent another nerf war and for the sake of balance would you be okay with having a -1 Armor Stat attached to shoulder charge?
P.s. I think we should discuss all balance issues like this from now on. Rather than demanding a nerf on a perk or class, let's ask that class to negotiate with us and offer a solution to what our problem is and work it out that way until agreeable terms are met.

Edit: A fellow Guardian named COOKIEMONSTER79 has also suggested a -1 to Agility rather than Armor and I think that his suggestion would work just as well if not better than mine.

It doesn't need a nerf, it takes a great deal of awareness to use properly and is the only "art form" in Destiny. Your post was sensible, but it's off base. If you're dying to shoulder charge a lot it's due to your setup more than likely.

I think if I get shoulder charged from someone sprinting acroos map the game should automatically delete its self and set my ps4 on fire. The only action that needs to be stopped is Ppl running into walls and it charges The cool down should be set to a distance figure . Other then that sc is super fun and I no its generally my fault when I die to it.

If only people understood that if we had reasonable discussions about balance in this game, things can get done the right way. If you agree or disagree, explain why & work for common ground. Instead, it's nothing but people bashing each other & saying "this & that is a crutch" You mean the thing Bungie specifically made for that class that everyone can use? Maybe I'm the only mature one that thinks this though

1 ReplyI eat so many shotgun blasts to the face trying to SC. It is fine, there is nothing wrong with SC. Stop crying about it. The striker is obviously balanced. If you all played striker you would know that about 1/3 SC's end up wiffing or just launching someone into the air with no damage. Play the class before you speak

Shoulder charge is fine. It's high risk/high reward. If anything melees still need fixing because they still don't always register properly

Lololol people have been using this since the fcking start of the game! There's nothing wrong with it. The problem here is bungo destroying other classes for no reason. The blink nerf was uncalled for and the fcking tripmines, really?

7 RepliesEdited by Vitamins Vai: 6/21/2016 5:15:59 PMIf you are getting killed by SC then it's obviously for one out of 3 reasons. 1.you weren't paying attention to your surroundings. 2.you couldn't kill them fast enough with you primary or secondary before they closed the distance. 3.you were out maneuvered. Honestly when I'm playing around on my Titan my SC has been stopped multiple times and I have stopped multiple SC from getting. Usually when I get offed by SC it's because of reasons 1 and 2.

If we both have cars that go 60mph and yours gets limited to 20mph, mine isnt OP. Yours got shat on. Thats the difference. SC has been fine from the word go.

I tried playing as a titan with SC and if u just focus on using that then it is very easy to die but then again I was a low level rookie at the time... so

There is no shoulder charge issue. It's easily defensed.... no need to do anything to it. Anybody complaining about it doesn't use it.

Rather than letting bungie try and "balance" SC this seems like a more worthwhile trade off. I would also rather it be -1 agility rather than armor.

3 RepliesI'd honestly leave it how it is. You can kill a titan that's already in the SC move. Pull out your shotgun. Overall i have to say that you can't just rely on SC because you can still die pretty easy because of lag or shotgun.

Back when shotguns were heavily used, shoulder charge was a joke. Be honest here, how many of you SC victims were hard scoping a lane when you got slammed into? Instead of adapting and busting out a shot gun, your natural instinct is that shoulder charge is over powered, rather than your skill being subpar. My current KD is only about .9 and I hardly get killed by shoulder charge.

The problem with SC isn't people abusing, the problem is the good players can actually win a rumble match with SC and Peregrine Greaves only. And kids are cancer in Destiny

2 RepliesCan't wait till they nerf Lightning Nades and Titan Skating :) Titan skating is an unintended consequence of the "Controlled Jump" giving a slight boost to momentum... Mark my words Bungie WILL add a cool down for this, stopping the ability from being spammed! It's just a matter of time ;)

Is this even a thing? I've never been killed twice in the same match with SC. If someone relies solely on SC for their kills in a match then they will be bottom of the board everytime. If someone can line you up and reach you from '100yds' without you realising or shooting him, then I think he deserves the kill.
