Project Scorpio is next year's new xbox which means if you want vr you are going to need to buy the Microsoft hololens as well. Plan on spending $600-$1200 for everything unless Microsoft is nice and creates a cheaper vr headset just for project Scorpio (might be possible).
If your loaded like some people are also include getting a 4k display for when you just want to play and not mess around with vr. Asus and BenQ have some really good gaming oriented ones. An elite controller wouldn't hurt as well.

Oculus maybe?

Edited by NobodyJustBrad: 6/17/2016 2:49:25 PMI think Scorpio alone is going to be at least $1000 brand new.
-
Lol yeah right. Amd announced their card that will be 4k/vr ready will be $199. Imagine how much its going to be in over a year's time.

One component. You realize a console isn't just a graphics card surrounded by plastic, right?
-
You realize that the gpu is the most expensive component right? I can't see this thing costing over $500.
-
Lol. Price out each component to meet the specs of Scorpio yourself then and get back to me.
-
Look at the depreciation of technology cost over 1 year and 6 months, then get back to me. You could build a PC with the new AMD gpu to have the same specs as the Scorpio, if not more powerful, for about $800. Factor in the depreciation of PC components over a year and a half and most likely scaled back tech to just hit 4k and VR smoothly, and you're looking at probably $500 in a year and a half's time.

Edited by NobodyJustBrad: 6/17/2016 7:23:11 PMAlso keep in mind, they're only hurting the sales of X1S by debuting them at the same time, UNLESS Scorpio is going to be very expensive. $800 for Scorpio at the minimum, and I mean bare minimum. I'm still thinking $1,000.

You're estimating a bit low there. AND forgetting about making a profit. Just FYI.
