POLL: ALL IN FAVOR OF DROPPING LAST GEN SAY AYE!
I'm not going to lie, they should have initially made Destiny for the current gen consoles back in 2013. From where we are today it's like people who didn't want to buy a Blu-ray player when their DVD player still worked. The current gen consoles have been out for 3 years almost... 3 freaking years! Those systems came out over 10 years ago! Get over it, I ate a pb&j everyday for 3 months straight to save up and buy the PS4. Yes I just bought the PS3 two years before. But I could tell a remarkable difference after playing it on the PS4
For those of you who wish to believe it plays and looks exactly the same check out the video, you will be surprised. I catch myself viewing out into the Cosmodrome all the time. EDIT 2: Thanks again for all the support guys, once again I understand what some people mean by having to change to a new system, buy the same game again. But listen to me and wait until they announce either a system bundle or deluxe edition ROI. It will save you lots of moneys and it will give you some time to save up and decide if sticking with your manufacturer or going to the "other" brand (Ps4 has exclusives 😄) Stay salty guardians and see you all in September!

There's just no point in dropping last-gen this far into D1's life. People are stupid for thinking Bungie is going to implement 60 FPS into Rise of Iron, or create some "massive" experience that only current-gen could provide when the netcode is already shitty because it was built on last-gen, and pretty much ported to current gen.

I want to agree as last gen is holding back a lot of potential. I also want to disagree as new gen costs money which, quite obviously, isn't a luxury everyone has. For most people, money goes straight into bills and groceries so they have nothing to spare. You could save up from the leftover dollars you have but that would take a long time to save up for a new gen console and, most of the time, the money you save up has to be spent in some sort of emergency; car broken down, pipes sprung a leak, hospital/vet costs. For some people, they just simply cannot upgrade to new gen. If you say that's impossible then you're terribly misinformed

I believe that unless Bungie allows all your purchased destiny content to transfer from old to next gen, then all DLC should be released for what ever generation the main game was playable on. Destiny 2 should be next gen only.

2 RepliesGame devs have the ability to update their game differently on different consoles, Bioware did it for DAI, just released the game for last gen, patched its bugs, and all updates and dlc were strictly current gen. Last gen consoles arent holding anyone back. If bungie wanted to, they could do things for current gen and not do them for last gen, like bungie bounties and the thriller dance. The problem is, Bioware didnt promise support for last gen, bungie did. You dont make promises to sell games, then back out on them once you have the money. So in summation, bungie cannot drop support for last gen, and last gen aint holding anything back.

They are coming out with more powerful xbox ones and ps4s next year. If anyone thinks destiny 2 will be on ps3 and xbox 360 then they're delusional.

Drop it. I own and play it on all 4 systems and it's time to move on. It runs like shit on PS3 and 360 anyway compared to PS4 and Xbox one. Time to move on. I welcome it if it makes it even better on current Gen.

It was going to happen...... Although hearing that they dropped last Gen opened up the question, did they drop last Gen for better development for this Dlc? is the last Gen just to old to take this new Dlc? Or just cutting loss ps3 and xb360 in preparation or destiny ll. Sorry for those destiny player on last Gen but there are still many amazing games on ps3 I know ( I don't have a Xbox) skyrim and the batman city, both games are good and will keep you very happy.

I'm going with no even though I own XB1 and PS4. Destiny 2 for sure next Gen only, I'm not too sure if you need to re purchase the game again moving to current consoles. They started on the older consoles let them play till D2 and hopefully it's free to transfer over to current consoles.

I say nay. I could have bought a PS4 years ago. Still can, because I'm moderately well-off and money-smart. I didn't. And I won't, until (a) My PS3 breaks down (and Sony products don't break easily) or (b) An equally good reason appears.

5 RepliesI prefer playing on last gen because my xbox one is wired to an HD TV and there is a time delay when I play destiny, but when I play on 360, which is hooked up to a box TV, there is absolutely no time delay. I cannot hook up xbox one to the box TV because there is no HDMI plug on it, and One can't be connected any other way (at least not to my know). So I will have to disagree with you sir, because some people prefer using last gen

Well if they drop last gen for the next DLC, i won't be playing Destiny at all. Maybe i will buy D2, bit that's a big maybe. I have Destiny on both PS4 and PS3 but i only have TTK on PS3. Good thing too, because i don't need a PS+ subscription to play there. I could buy the next DLC for PS4 but that would mean that i have to spend another $40 for PS+ on top of whatever the next DLC will cost. Economically for me right now, thats a big NO. They should hold on to last gen until Destiny 2.
