did you read the grimoire cards relating to the traveler and the fallen. it tells of the traveler going to the fallen home planet. that the fallen had the traveler at their home planet for a very long time which is why their tech is more advanced that they worshipped it and it turned their planet dark and made them go darker as a species which is why they are on earth. they want the traveler back to worship it and to try to fix their home planet. read the cards ppl. the traveler is not a totally good entity it does give knowledge but to further its own goals it was a conscience being. at least before Rasputin damaged it

Edited by Kingpriest: 5/30/2016 9:48:34 PMI just read the cards. and am still reading them read them all for Rasputin the traveler and all the fallen cards. it is not precise what I stated. merely a summary. ive been reading them from the first card. whereas my collection is not complete I plan to complete it this week and continue reading it as it is interesting how much thought bungie put into these cards and the lore. either way fellas the aspect of the traveler is not a being of light. it doesn't care what planet it is on. it feeds it helps and when the hive / oryx comes for it to feed on it, it sacrifices the current planet to the dark to save itself. the fallen were sacrificed in such a way yes. the traveler was a being just because it doesn't state that it ate doesn't mean it didn't not consume things(probably a bit confusing there) never the less as the fallen world got darker so did the fallen they do want it back they did worship it and they do want to take it back to try to repair the damage to their world ( even though by reading the cards it is assumed that the world is beyond repair)

The Traveler we to the Fallen home planet. Gave them knowledge until the Darkness found it again...the Traveler then left the planet alone to face the darkness alone. The Fallen tried to fight the Darkness they lost many Houses including the House of Stone. This is when the remaining Houses took off after the Traveler. On their journey after the Traveler they ran low on their life source Ether. Which is when they had a civil war among themselves destroying many more Houses. They eventually made it to Earth to find the Traveler dorminent. Where the Fallen and Humans began a war amongst themselves. When the Traveler arrived at Earth it was giving Humans knowledge just as it did the Fallen. The Traveler was very aware that the Darkness was after it. It was going to use Earth to slow down the Darkness. Right before it's departure Rasputin crippled the Traveler to keep it from leaving. The Traveler then had only one choice but to help defend against the coming Darkness. The Traveler then created the Ghost before going dorminent.

This is proven in one of the ghost fragments for Rasputin, which says something like " prevent [O] departure by any means" or something. An Chelchis, Kell of stone, is believed to have fought against the hive, who were the darkness's vanguard at the time. That's why his name is found on Raid weapons. It is also believed that the quote "Where is the great machine, where is the great machine" were his final words before dying, as he probably saw the traveler attempting to leave.

That is true, what I'm trying to tell you is it wasn't the Traveler who made the Fallen who made them dark. It was their encounter with the Darkness.

Technically the fallen arent true darkness servants they just want to survive and retake the traveller for them, we are at odds with then because they traveller "choose" us to fight the darkness. They are just space pirates trying to survive think of then like mongols in asia. The only true servants of the darkness are the hive and the taken as far as we know.
