Reach... Reach... Reach...

Motion Capture sounds like it would be a lot of fun. Very interesting.
-
If McFarland reads these... The mo cap cam tech wasn't done first in Reach OR Avatar. It was done first as just a throw away thing in LOTR (I think it was even pete jackson's idea). I guess weta still uses it. MCF may know that, but there WAS a question about it... so :P [Edited on 02.18.2010 6:21 PM PST]

Very nice.
-
Gotta love that motion capture! :D
-
That was a very good article. I also had no idea that mo-cap came from the medical field. Very cool.
-
Great read =) Very interesting!
Posted by: Hylebos Sadly enough I haven't seen a thread about this in the Reach forum. Too much BR talk and CoD discussions.
It'll be our little secret.

Oh neat! You guys spoil us.

Sadly enough I haven't seen a thread about this in the Reach forum. Too much BR talk and CoD discussions.

I liked the last part about how the different characters will have their own ways and styles, like different animations, unless I totally misunderstood it.
-
Looked long, decided to wait till later to read it. But in all seriousness this is an awesome thread and I will definitely scrutinize this in greater detail later.
-
That was a rather long interview. Pretty insightful too. *looks around* [Edited on 02.18.2010 4:14 PM PST]

Mad props for this article urk. I mentioned it before in a previous news story but I'll say it again here: Bungie consistently has some of the best animation in the business and Reach looks to be raising that bar. The movements of everything looks so natural to what it is (Marine, Spartan, Elite, Jackal). It's great to get a look in on how the MoCo aspect of this factors in.

Interesting long read. I actually wanted to see something like this, but with many more Grunts. [Edited on 02.18.2010 5:29 PM PST]

Great article. I love seeing what's going on behind the scenes. also, TRIBES! hell yeah, represent! That's the game that started it all for me. I do miss my jet pack but thanks to Halo I can simulate the experience in custom games ;p
-
Wow, that was really cool to read through. It has both informed and inspired me. Thank you so much!
-
wow i love how you guys are putting alot on b.net about the behind the scenes and the insides of bungie! I cant wait to see what else you guys are cooking up to show us!
-
A good look inside Bungie, very interesting.
-
That's quite a bit of information in this article. I'll have to go back to read and try to fully comprehend what it truly takes to make the motion-capturing true to the game!

-
Awesome, if rather confusing.
-
Very nice article.
-
Purdy sweet.
-
