The stronger faction

====================================== Destiny Lore ====================================== Honestly, I love the way this game shows "story" more than any other. There's less linear progression....but there's so much lore. So much. There's (figuratively and literally) a universe of lore to discover, and it's always expanding. I think that may be a part of why so many people continue to play this game even after it's been out for so long now. People can give it hate all they want, but this game has proven to have a longer longevity than almost any other in recent times. When Oryx arrived, it became clear that he was to be portrayed as the biggest threat to this system. What made this apparent is how he wiped out one of the most fortified Cabal bases, and had our Guardian unable to do anything except flee. We, the killers of Crota, fled with our tails between our legs, and had to evolve and grow stronger bit by bit (the new light level) until we could finally stand up to him/her and amass an assault on the Taken King (is he really dead? We don't know. The ending with Eris sort of makes it feel open ended.) The Vex are masters of time and space. They are a hive mind. They even have a god (verified) and we killed it. There's not really much more that needs to be said here. Of all the factions introduced, even the Hive, they were the only ones classified as nothing but true and pure evil. The Cabal. Blowing up moons just for getting in their way. Their base seemed to be wiped out by Oryx, but then they retaliated. We had to intervene, but it seems they were set to destroy the dreadnaught (and this entire solar system) if we hadn't. And this is just a mere faction of their real strength. I guess they're something akin to Frieza - their race goes around conquering systems and destroying them, and it's unfathombale what they're truly capable of if they put their mind to it. So what does this mean? Who is the strongest? Is it the Cabal, the conquers of galaxies? Is it the Vex, the manipulators of time and space? Is it the Taken, that spread like zombies? Basically, in an entirely different solar system, if these three waged war without Guardian interference, who would win? Any ideas? They say there's no story in Destiny, but I disagree. All this lore just waiting to be dug up, discussed, and examined is pretty cool to those that actually put effort into uncovering it. PS - It kinda sucks the Fallen have...fallen (pun wasn't intended but now it is) so drastically when compared to these groups. We all know they're like the Elites of the Destinyverse, and most of us have figured out by now that they once were aligned with The Traveler (the Great Machine as they called it) until it abandoned them so I want to see what that expands into. I thought once the Taken appeared all differences would be set aside as they joined the Guardians (they are of the light after all) to combat this threat (50 shades of halo) but I guess not. I'm kind of sad about that, because while they make for fun enemies they would make for even better allies. PPS - "Even Oryx can't control an ogre unless it's taken" - What sort of bull is that? First of all, aren't the Hive aligned with the Taken? Not to mention the Hive follow the (former) Hive-god Crota, and Oryx is the father/mother of Crota. Why can't he control one ogre unless it's taken? He's like a super-god to these Hive.
