Posted by: urk On it. Not sure what, if any, solution we can work out, but we definitely can't adjust the playlists over the weekend. Sit tight.
Now, it can't honestly be that difficult and/or expensive to just put the DLC back up, can it? I mean, seriously, we've all poured lots of money into Halo, it's the least you guys can do. Also, I would say that I'd be fine with them just lifting the playlist map restrictions, but I wouldn't. I don't want to never get to play those other levels again.
-
Glad to hear the restrictions might be taken off. But nobody go buy the map pack disc because read my last post, MS is releasing the map packs back on the server within a week or 2.

I just went out and bought Halo 2 again so I could play it online before it's retired. Glad to see Bungie is working on the problem.

I cannot tell you how happy I am that you guys are going to try and assess this problem, for a fairly small number of people. [Edited on 02.06.2010 5:34 PM PST]

Freaking awesome. I want to get in on the last days of H2 :)

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! I just got off the phone with Microsoft and they said they're going to make an exception with Halo 2, and put the DLC back up on the servers! He told me keep an eye out within the next week or two, and there will be an announcement made that the maps will be available on Xbox.com.
Posted by: RussellTheHippy I'm pretty -blam!- pissed right now. I just want to play some goddamn Halo 2 one more time on live. I hate MS more than ever now, and I'm beginning to hate Bungie. If I don't get to play Halo 2 one more time before it's gone, I'm done with Halo for good. I've been a loyal customer for 8 years. Spent countless hours on all of the Halo games. And now this happens. I'm not gonna bother getting Reach if I don't get to play Halo 2 on live in these last couple months. Honestly, Halo's the only video game I play. If I can't play one more time, I'm basically done with video games. Might even get rid of my xbox and my games(which the only games I brought to college are Halo CE, 2, and 3).
LOL WTF?

The thing is, I'm not going to buy a map pack disc when I already dropped money on the maps. And on top of that, you're still missing 2 maps. It's not hard to upload the DLC back up onto the servers. Hopefully Bungie can notify somebody from MS that will actually do something.
-
Posted by: ABotelho Hey, we don't need the maps. Something more simple to do would be that Bungie would simply remove DLC restrictions from matchmaking...
That'd work, but I've always wanted to play Backwash and Containment. Still, it's better than nothing.
Posted by: BOB570 If you don't have the all the maps, there is still hope! Buy a map pack disc. It has all the maps required for BTB. I played it last night. And don't worry about the patch, you can still download that. Get your hands on a map pack disc (ebay), and play BTB.
I guess I can spend four dollars for a used map pack disk if it means I can at least play Big Team. But I'll wait a little to see if Microsoft actually offers a solution to this for free.
-
The problem with the map pack disk is that id doesn't contain ALL of the maps that Bungie released... I certainly would have gotten all of my maps downloaded earlier if I had any inclination that the down-loadable maps would be gone completely.
If you don't have the all the maps, there is still hope! Buy a map pack disc. It has all the maps required for BTB. I played it last night.
Not sure if that's entirely helpful. I just installed all the maps on the disc and still wasn't able to play big team battle... edit:never mind, seems to be working. [Edited on 02.06.2010 10:04 AM PST]

If we can't get the maps to be downloadable I think we should organize like a huge customs list for the people who don't have the maps.
-
Same here, guys. It blows. Maybe we can get Bungie to stand up to M$ for us on this? They are about the only ones M$ will listen to on this.
-
I'm having the same problem. This sucks.
-
This just isn't fair - They have GOT to take away map restrictions or something. I wanted to improve my stats while I still can except, I CANT.
Posted by: Vots33 At the support center, they weren't entirely sure if Microsoft took the content offline or Bungie.
It was Microsoft, all Xbox 1 DLC is removed. And they lied to you about no complaints, I complained before noon CST. I am still awaiting my escalation call back. NOT happy.
-
Posted by: Vots33 It's support, I never expected anything anyways. If I have to complain until April 14th to get these maps put back up, I will. Just so I can play Halo 2 online one last time.
Agreed. Dude, -blam!-!! I was going to play some Halo 2 again. It's bad enough that after April 15 it will be a thing completely of the past, but I know that I can't join in for Halo 2's last moments of life! Goddamnit! I just want to enjoy playing Halo 2 on XBL one last -blam!- time!!!
Posted by: Vots33 He also said we haven't had any complaints thus far, but they do realize it's an issue. So if everybody just takes a few minutes to complain about not having the DLC available, it might help out a lot.
That is a load of crap, I called about a problem with the maps this morning. All I got for an answer to the problem was to wait an hour and try again later. I hate calling any support numbers for anything, and as of now they still don't work.
