Funny thing is they have done this before with HoW and Taken King but let's break it down so everyone can follow the steps. 1.Go Months without any new. Slowly update the game along the way. 2.Announce weeks before that you will have news soon. 3.Announce a date of the release and streams following up to release.Doing it so close that they literately can't change anything immediately even if the players don't want it. 4.Proceed to hype the hell out of all the new features making them seem like they are going to be much better than they are. Remember how PoE was supposed to be this amazing, dynamic, firefight like thing that just wound up being 4 rooms and only 3 objectives with very few rotating bosses/modifiers? 5.Rinse and repeat til next content release.

  • I saw it going like this. 1. Introduce content 2. Let players grind the hell out of it 3. Overhype the shit out of upcoming content 4. Introduce new content that makes old content irrelevant 5. Let players grind the hell out of it 6. Hype the shit out of more upcoming content 7. Make old content relevant again with a new leveling system, calling it "new content", when in reality, only a small amount is actually new 8. Let players grind the hell out of that 9. Repeat steps 3-9 Vanillas was step 1 The Dark Below was step 4 House of Wolves was step 7 Taken King was the beginning of step 9 (so back to step 3) I think this update is another step 7.
