What has disappointed me most about Destiny

I have just been watching a few old Destiny videos published before and around its release. When I did so, I remembered what has disappointed me most about this game. The videos convey a sense of grandeur and circuitness, a feeling of endless spaces to explore and countless adventures to experience, all this wrapped into a fantastic music score. The reality was sobering. True, the graphics were (and still are) stunning. Graphical and sound effects are awesome. The gun play is above reproach. However, the levels are just cramped confines, fish bowls taking away every sense of moving in a huge ocean. The story is so bland and uninspired and is over all too soon. It also lacks that element that makes you connect emotionally. Its attempts to convey a struggle for survival die away as shallow clichès. Instead of generosity, the entire economy and levelling system oozes narrow mindedness and stinginess. In my opinion this all reflects the mindset of the game's designers, and that's the root of all the problems of this game. Behind all that outward splendor, there seems to be only pettiness and a lack of authentic emotion. It is just a game, but why do people play games? Why do they read books? Why do they watch movies? It is because they want to be whisked away into an alternate reality that charms and thrills them. I think that many people are so disappointed about Destiny because that was its promise, and Bungie didn't deliver. I also think that this is why people keep coming back, trying to make Bungie create the game they had been made to believe Destiny would be. Bungie, you wanted both: Fame and money. So far you may have got the money, but instead of fame you gathered shame for the way you have been treating your customers with all your failed game design decisions and sloppy coding. The sad thing about you, Bungie, is that every feedback is just wasted on you. This, so very much.
