Final 1.09 installer is ready to validate

The final patches for PC and CE 1.09 are ready and available for download. This is the same build you've had for a few weeks if you've been following the thread, only the installer-wrapper is added. If people report success installing these patches, they will go up for auto-update soon, which should help unify the playerbase on the new version. This is also the first time we've added a "Bungie, LLC" digital signature to anything (instead of going through the Microsoft internal tool for doing that) so let me know if you see anything wrong there. http://www.bungie.net/images/games/halopc/patch/patch_109.exe http://www.bungie.net/images/games/halopc/patch/patch_ce109.exe Remember to re-apply the instructions in the Anisotropic Filtering thread if you did before the patch, as this config.txt will overwrite your changes. If you don't know what I mean, you don't have to worry about it.

    •
Posted by: wondak1d Server Admin: "...the fact that it's hard to make halo servers work because of the microsoft IE patch that blocks servers from starting..." He also told me if Sawnose reads this, he should have a look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIMTBCOsE_o(Read Description). "The culprit patch is KB969897, which seems integrated in Windows 2008 R2 making it harder to host halo servers." I'd like to see a 1.10 patch - so please Sawnose if you read this!
2008 r2 is 64 bit, I suggest you go to a 32 bit OS for example server 2008(without r2). halo servers tend to crash a lot on 64 bit operating systems. i have made a virtual pc with server 2008 32 bit on my 64 bit windows 7 installation, now the servers don't crash as frequent as before. also no issues with windows update and halo ce 1.09 as of yet.
Posted by: Your_Self I would like to know when we'll see a fix for the netcode. lol But, really. What exactly are we getting with these new updates?
server admins should use this tweak, it reduced the lead and warping by a big deal(its the same as delaginator but this one auto starts with your server so its better): http://rework3d.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=11930 note: you need to have an forum account there to download attachments. NEVER MIND DO NOT USE THIS, IT CAUSES FOR MORE LAG AND KICKING PLAYERS.
Posted by: sawnose Some people have asked for the 1.09 fix list: - Fixes a bug which could allow an attacker to cause the server app to hang.
still seeing this issue sometimes when the server has been running for some time(usually 24 hours+), when I type sv_players or pl it says that sv_players is not a server command... and the server isn't showing up in the list any more and players can't join via direct ip either. btw: im using sapp on my server as well http://www.xhalo.co.cc/ could sapp cause this error? any way to fix it? • No, there's not going to be any more support for Halo PC. It's over with. It's okay though because the game is running fine. Not many problems I've ran into since the last patch.

    • But i have one question: Will there be any further support for Halo PC? Or will this finally be it now? Online community is still pretty active.

    • Oh come off it, give them their due, they supported the game for 7 years after release XD And recently gave Reach players recognition for being Halo PC oldbies. Major kudos Bungie <3

    • actualy it's more than likely in the computers registry as i posted above, but the only way to fully "unlink" it is to get regedit and mess around in there. and even then its not usualy the cd key its a bug in 1.09 thanks again sawnose -_-

Did you try reinstalling Halo CE with your new cd?

They all lie, and none of them are blaming eachother, they simply "ignore" the problem. push it aside.

    • If you're sure that the game is patched to 1.09, I can only suggest a reinstall. The only times it should ask for a CD are when it's not fully patched. [Edited on 04.22.2010 7:21 PM PDT]
