Don't reply cause nobody actually understood the post

its so bullshit how you could get teleported and die instantly because he slammed right when you teleported and this is so far whats keeping my hunter from completing the challenge

  • It seems to me that they've also made the shade more aggressive with his sword swings. I've beaten Oryx on hard mode a number of times, including defeating the challenge mode twice. Thanks to the challenge mode rewards, I'm now 319. But last night three different teams I was on failed to defeat the normal Oryx HM. One problem is that people often died to being slammed by Oryx. I died twice like that. And neither time was I close to Oryx and I was mid-air at the time. It's as if he'll turn mid swing and side swipe you in the air. (I'm not actually sure what happened, as I was mid air, and not particularly close to the Echo, and then suddenly I was dead, and the death screen said I had been killed by the Echo.) To make matters worse, if everyone runs too far away from him, he'll linger inside trying to find someone to swing at, and you'll lose precious DPS time as he wanders around aimlessly. So I've googled around, and I've found the strategy of jumping directly at him and over his head. That sounds dangerous, but I've watched videos of it and it seems to work. It seems to force him to slam too, so you can get back to DPS'ing. Also, it would protect people being teleported in, since when you do this aggressively, he seems not to slam in the middle of the shade world. Having a Warlock with res sacrifice himself also seems to be a common recommendation. (Perhaps this is why Bungie made the shade world this way: To make Warlocks valuable to the fight. Hunters are are already valuable for generating orbs and Titans are infinitely valuable for fueling ToM's with blessing of light.)
