• Not one good light saber duel. Finn and Kylo terrible actors. Rey magically learns force skills that takes years to acquire. This stuffs like fanfic

 • Oh you're one of those guys who thinks more lightsabers=better Attack of the Clones was a masterpiece, right?

 • Clones is probably the worst big budget film ever made. Though VII was unoriginal, it was otherwise a competently made Star Wars film. I mean jeez

 • Are you saying the all of the prequels were literary devices? Does subtle undertones in a movie suddenly make it better regardless if the plot makes no sense? The empire strikes back and the force awakens used plenty of literary devices, what's different then? Do you even know what a literary device is? Are you 9?

 • This only shows you completely ignored watching the videos and fail to see any reason. Let me explain how incoherent the plot of episode one is. 1. That stupid invasion. So Vice Roy Gunray is trying to invade the planet of Naboo because they're pissed about new tax laws. They set up a blockade so that no trade can get in or out. Which makes no sense because they're the trade federation. Anyway, Chancellor vellorum sends two Jedi Knights (as is stated in the title crawl even though obi-wan is still a padawan) to check out what's going on there and negotiate an agreement with the trade federation. Palpatine tells the Vice Roy that he wants the treaty signed, even though if the treaty is signed the queen can't move for a vote of no confidence in vellorum and make palpatine the chancellor, ergo negating the next two movies. Palpatine saying he wants the treaty signed is ridiculous. He tells the viceroy to kill the jedi. What would have worked would be for palpatine to tell vice roy to tell the jedi, "There will be no negotiations. We are going to invade Naboo," and then send them back to the senate, that way he could move for a vote of no confidence faster, kick vellorum off his throne and take his place. But instead Palpatine tells the Vice Roy to kill the jedi, which would be see as an intergalactic felony, and the whereabouts of the jedi would be investigate leading to the discovery of the invasion leading to the trial and probably execution of vice roy. He gasses the room there in and then opens the door. His logic being they were probably dead so he could destroy what's left of them. Why not leave the jedi in there for like 16 hours? If they start to cut out, with their lightsabers, blow up the room. Anyway, the invasion happens, the jedi gets down to the serface and then they meets Jar-Jar. The bane of star wars. Why would both political antics and slap-stick antics with jar jar be in the same movie? Who is this movie directed to? Can't be children, because of all the politics crap. If that's the case, why include jar-jar? They didn't have to go down to the gungan city, they could have written the story any other way that could have been better than what we got. 2. I don't even know why tatooine was in the movie. So after a bunch of stuff happened on Naboo, they make it through the planet core, save the queen and get onto a ship to make it off the planet. They fly right past the blockade. "It's because the had a shield generator." You're telling me that any ship with a working shield generator can fly past the blockade with minimal damage? If that's the case, why is there a crisis? How come we never actually get to see this crisis? How did the shield generator get hit if they have a shield? Isn't the shield generator protecting the ship? If the shield generator could get hit, why not the rest of the ship as well? What is the blockade for again? Doesn't matter anyway, beccause they fly right past after R2 puts a thing into another thing to turn the shield back on. We get to tatooine and becasue George Lucas said so, jar jar, the bumbling idiot goes with them. Qui-gon says they'll check one of the smaller dealers for parts, indicating there are larger dealers. When they meets watto and try to get the parts they need, they can't buy theym because watto doesnt accept credits. Force mind trick doesn't work on him either. Why doesn't the empire use a legion of the species watto is from if force mind trick doesn't work on them? Anyway, Watto tells them that they won't get the parts anywhere else, which is literally the oldest marketing trick in the books. Plus, watto is supposed to be one of the smaller dealers according to qui-gon, so why wouldn't a larger dealer have the parts? Are these parts so rare that that few people have them? In that case, why does a small dealership have them and not a larger one? If they were that valuable the larger dealerships would have probably paid to have them. So jar jar does something stupid, anaken steps in, and we go to anaken's house. We learn that aniken made C-3PO,which doesn't make any sense. He says he ade 3PO to help his mom around the house, but 3PO is states the a new hope to be designed for "Etiquette and Protocol." How would that help his mom? Why not just make her a vacuum cleaner? So we learn that anaken has a pod in a pod race soming up that could win them the money needed to buy the parts to get off the planet. Qui-gon, knowing nearly nothing about anaken bets the ship if anaken loses, and if anaken wins he's freed. If he really willing to risk losing the ship, then he must either a. know for a fact aniken will win because the force told him or something, or b. he knows he'll be able to get back to coruscant some other way if he does lose. In that case, why not trade the ship they have for a less valuable, but still functional ship? That would have by-passed this whole tatooine thing entirly, but because we need to get anaken in the darth vader suit, they need to make everything super complicated. Even metioning that part with darth Maul isn't worth it because is was only twenty seconds of the movie. It might as well have not happened at all Moving on. 3. Nobody wants to see politics in a star wars movie. After that whole scrap on tatooine we're back on coruscant where the jedi chancelor Vellorum commissioned tell him what's going on when they get to the landing platform. Yet somehow, even though vellorum sent them for that very reason, he still thinks its best to make a committee to debate the claims credibility. Why not use the camera feed of the droids getting shot off the ship when they were breezing past the blockade as evidence? Or that message where the one guy's like "The death toll is catastrophic, you must contact me." Have the jedi tesify as witnesses in front of the whole senate. But because everyone in the senate is a bumbling idiot, we get the vote of no confidence in palpatines favor, which again, never would have happened if the treaty to make the invasion legal was signed. Meanwhile, Qui-Gon is debating with the jedi council about aniken, and RUINS ALL OF STAR WARS BY TURNING THE FORCE INTO MEDICHLORIANS. This cool thing that yoda taught us about in episode five, is just microscopic organisms in your blood. So in the end, it doesn't matter how much you train to become in tune with the force because you can't. You can't get more medichlorians in your blood stream. In the end, your parentage decides if you'lll become a jedi. It just ruins the whole mystique and wonder to the force. The jedi council deny's qui-gon to be able to train anaken, then later in the movie they allow obi-wan to train aniken. Why? Because we need to get aniken in the vader suit. All of the prequels were about getting anaken in the vader suit. Then they go back to Naboo and take anaken with them because qui-gon is a drunken idiot. 4. A bunch of things happening at one time doesn't make for a good ending. We see with a new hope they did it just fine. They only had one thing happening in a new hope: destroying the death star. In the end of Empire we see Luke fighting vader and Leia, Lando, and the gang escaping from cloud city. In the phantom menace we have four things happening at one time. We have Obi-Wan and qui-gon facing off against Maul (and the music score for that fight was great, I'll give it that) padme and the rest trying to get to vice roy, the gungans fighting the droid army, and anaken who accidentally blows up the space ship. In less than 30 seconds we go from lamenting the
death of qui-gon
to jar-jar going somehing stupid with a droid blaster stuck to his foot. All of these endings conflict in emotion, and at the same time are completely devoid of them. You get the sense that Obi-Wan is pissed at Maul for kill Qui-Gon, but we never see them being great friends. We never see any playful banter back and forth that would tell us Obi-Wan would be angry that his master died other than the fact he was his master. Even then Obi-Wan doesn't seem very angry. Take for example when Luke in return of the Jedi starts beating down on vader and cuts Vader's arm off. It would have been a great opportunity to do something like that where Obi-Wan completely looses it and starts tearing Maul to bits. Instead we go back to the half decent choreographed fighting we see before. The only hint Obi-Wan is mad at Maul is that the fighting's a little more fast paced. 5. The ending everyone couldn't wait to get to. So in the end, since there really weren't any stakes involved in the fight nobody cheered except the gungans. Compare this to he ending of a new hope or empire. The rebels have destroyed the deathstar, and the rebellion to combat the ruthless and unforgicing empire lives to fight another day. Morale soars, everyone realizes the empire is not invincible. They've been crippled. They can be destroyed. Or how about in empire: Han has been taken prisoner, Luke gets his butt kicked by vader, and his arm chopped off. The audience is still in shock by the reveal of the evil dart vader being Luke's father. Questions are still unanswered, and our heroes seem at their lowest. This kind of ending makes us want to see the next movie. But in the end of he phantom manace Nas Boss holds up some kind of glowy sphere that is never explains and says, "Peace." All in all, I understand the plot, but what I don't understand is how it was fumbled this badly, and morover, how you can't see to understand the complete garbage that the prequels are.

 • The Prequels fail in almost every level of filmmaking. An awful script, terrible dialogue, poor directing/acting, clearly bad special effects, sterile atmosphere, dull editing, the list goes on. Attack of the Clones doesn't have a single good scene, and the Phantom Menace has one or two, but punctuated by utter boredom.

 • Acting wasn't bad, you can't really blame Haden Christiansen or Ewan McGregor for what happened, but the script was awful. Just try and defend it. Give me one good thing about the script.
