I guarantee everyone is overthinking this. Sure it's fun to have fan based theories about this game. But we saw how that worked with the Sleeper Simulant.all the mystery and guessing for an easy time locked mission. It's safe to say nobody that makes this game cares enough to have backstory like this. They probably don't even know what to do with The Traveler at this point. Harsh reality.

Maybe so, but left tons of open ended possibilities. All they gotta do is choose one they one when the time comes, it doesn't even have to make sense. Remember the VoG secret? Nothing except a time locked mission. All the hype around the Sleeper? All those theories just for it to be a time locked mission. Just sayin the fan based ideas are more complex then the reality of the game

I can see that argument. I feel like in Y1 Destiny they tried to follow too many of their storylines and just kinda ended up with a mess. I wish there was a bit more content to it, but I think one thing TTK definitely improved was the storytelling and made you feel more emotionally invested in it, so that gives me hope for the future of Destiny.
