For The Sake Of Destiny, Debate Properly

DISCLAIMER: Looking back, I might've been ranting a bit. Despite this, please take this at least a little bit seriously if you agree. If not, then well, do what you wish. I'm not attacking anybody in particular - Actually, no, I am. I'm attacking all of you who can't debate properly.
Tony, what do you mean by "properly"? I state my opinion, they state theirs, and we tussle - that's all!
You sort of got it down. What we need to moderate here is how we go about presenting it. This is a quote from a guy in the post "Lol this weekly update" and is a perfect example on how NOT to bring your point across:
>Bungie announces an update to the game that will fix glitches and add new content and economy paths that people have been begging for "AHAHAHA WHAT AN UTTER JOKE I'M GONNA GO BACK TO FINDING OUT HOW MANY FALLPUT 4 DISCS I CAN SHOVE UP MY ASS WHILE MY DAD FACE-blam!-S ME AHAHAHA"
As one reply stated, "Oh wow... If anything is childish it's this. Civil please?" I know what some of you may say: "Tony, this is the internet. People can be who they please." Sure enough, that's true. Hell, my real name isn't even Tony - it just goes well with "Taken". But when it comes to debates, it's different. You're more than just interacting with others, you're educating them. When you state a point, you must be clear and precise. The reason of this is that the point of debating topics, especially on a game such as Destiny, is to further educate those who you think are ignorant to the problems at hand with the goal of progressing for the sake of everybody. It's not to insult or degrade the other party. If you want to do that, at the very least just go the troll route. "What do you mean by that? Can't I do both?" You can, but shouldn't. The troll route is, or should be, purely instigating the other person. Hey, it gets them mad, I'll tell you that much. But when you're trying to prove a point to the other person, the moment you say something like "You're bad" or "fegget", the meaning of the actual argument gets totally lost. On the topic of satire:
Refer to PONETHEPOON. The guy's good at satire.
All they hear is "something something something FEGGET GIT GUD SKRUB something else, another thing." That quote I put up earlier is a good example of this. Another thing: It's okay to attack people's positions, but as mentioned earlier, it's not usually okay to attack them as a person. In other words, don't get personal. For example, let's take this very article. I'm essentially attacking all of those people in the Destiny Community who have violated the more-or-less unspoken rules of debates. I even said it in the beginning. Although, I'm not trying to degrade them or insult them - quite the opposite. I wish to educate all of those who aren't debating properly because I KNOW THEY CAN.
Because hell, I was one of you at one point. I had to learn the hard way.
Debating here is crucial; As a community that developers interact with impressively more than other companies, our opinions are of great influence to Destiny as a whole. If you wish for it to progress further and not fail, the first step is to draw the line between trolling, entertainment, and actually getting a point across. We must progress, and in order to do that, we must smooth out the differences between ourselves. Only then can be unite as a Community and truly bring change to Destiny. I know I want to write so much more, and probably can if I think, but I can't think of anything right now, so have at me. TL ; DR Learn how to debate: 1. Don't get personal - attack their position, not them 2. Good grammar and spelling is recommended, but optional - you may be debating, but it's still the goddamn internet. 3. Learn some manners. Everybody here is capable of intelligence. 4. One word - Politics.
