Don't be.
I got early access to the game on Saturday (I know some people got it way earlier than that) and after 2 days of gameplay I'm really impressed.
1. The graphics are great, considering the size of the open-world. Lighting and textures in particular are surprisingly slick.
2. The game world looks and feels much, much bleaker than advertised. Most of the time it's dark or raining. Twice I've seen thick fog and once a nuclear thunderstorm (which also dealt out rads).
3. Gameplay seems much harder than previous Fallout games. Mostly because VATS no longer stops time, many enemies dish out radiation and those rads now instantly deplete your max health.
4. Customization is very in depth. Both the character creator and the amount of clothing options feel just right.
5. Gunplay is actually good. For the first time in a Fallout game we have good gunplay! Guns are loud, feel heavy and can be used to melee.
I'm not gonna spoiler the story btw

Hey just a heads up you should put that nuclear thunderstorm in a spoiler or take it out cuz I didn't want to know that! It's not a big deal I just want the game to feel completely new and know nothing ya know? Im glad to hear it's amazing though.

Have you had any of the framerate issues people are talking about?

I like you posting your opinion on fallout without spoilers the bad thing is you just got me beyond hyped. Is the weapon customization as good as they say?
-
Is the map as "small" as those people are saying?

To everyone who thinks the ending was spoiled to them in where
your son has to be killed
, Todd Howard has confirmed this is fake and there is no reason to worry if it was spoiled! Make sure to blackout social media until the tenth still, for your own safety
