When you block, you [b]spend ammo and still take damage![/b] I just don't get it. They also have a [b]1/3 chance of taking MORE damage[/b] (huge issue in crucible). They're useless for crucible, useless on most bosses, and overkill on weaker enemies. They only seem good for killing majors :(
Either blocking should be free or blocking should stop ALL damage.

In my opinion swords should be buffed. Why? 1. Heavy damage can instantly deplete the sword's ammunition and stun the wielder while blocking damage. 2. Swords are only useful at close and point-blank range, and therefore easily countered, whereas rocket launchers and machine gunners require focused fire due to their potential to score multikills with ease. The buffs I would be comfortable with: 1. Heavy damage can stun the wielder but only deplete a small amount of sword ammo while blocking. 2. 50% extra damage resistance vs. hit-scan damage while wielding the sword. 3. 33% extra damage resistance vs. projectile and area-of-effect damage while wielding the sword. 4. 25% extra damage resistance vs. damage-over-time while wielding the sword. Also: The sword itself and its hilt are recognised as separate weapons.
