Even rocket league has this.
Bungie, your awful matchmaking system clearly fails on a regular basis. Why don't you implement an option to match only solo-players against each other for crucible and IB?
Personally, I wouldn't mind waiting an extra 30-60 seconds if it meant that I wouldn't be matching up against a team of 4-6 who were communicating to perfection.
Edit: as pointed out below, I am referring to solo-queuers. NOT 1v1.

Edited by Ice Lantern: 10/17/2015 4:16:24 PMI would benefit from this but I don't think it should happen. People who take the time to form groups shouldn't be punished with longer wait times. Playing in groups should not be discouraged. Don't get me wrong, I hate fireteam bounties because I think there is already enough things in the game that encourage group play. However, making friends and grouping up with them should not be punished in any way whatsoever. Also, comparing it with Rocket League isn't really valid since RL is pretty much just a multiplayer PvP game.

The only down side to that. Betting those teams with group of randoms. Rare but I've pulled it off with some guys and it felt great
-
Offline solo gameplay seems fun but solo play would be a excellent experience
-
A solo-que would be nice. I'm mostly a solo player and hate running into pvp teams
-
I have noticed that when I am solo, there are much fewer fireteams in the lobby compared to how it used to be. Definitely an improvement...
-
I think the their matchmaking system usually matches you with solo players or small teams. When I play with my full fireteam we get matched with other teams, but when I play solo I don't really see many teams
-
Yeah, they need a mercenary playlist where all teams are mixed up every match and party chats are disabled.
-
ok i know that you said you did mean not 1v1 but honestly i think id want a 1v1 game type it would be certainly interesting
-
Great idea. But its always funny beating a group with a bunch of randies
-
Good -blam!-ing point, I am someone who enjoys smoking a dab, drinking a beer and jamming the -blam!- out while I play some crucible. The majority of time this is not conducive to team play so I play solo, and it's horrible.
-
Agreed.
-
I like this ...... Bumpage
-
If you force teams to play other teams they won't be winning as much. If tryhards aren't winning as much, they'll complain. I... don't see any downside to this actually.
-
good idea imo.
-
Rumble?
-
It would isolate the player base and slow down matchmaking and/or match you against people that don't mesh well connection wise.
-
I find the only way to play is solo. Even against teams of 6. I hardly ever go in with a full Fireteam now. Too many chiefs not enough Indians. Too many people doing garbage callouts or getting mad at each other over bullshit. Too many people wanting to be the hero and WAY too little people being an unsung helper coming to the aid of controlling zones, protecting heavy, team shooting, or generally being a good support.
-
this is genius. genius. bungie is run by corky, a 3 yr old girl, 5 new guys who only know how to program jumping stuff into raids, 2 ppl whose only vocabulary is "nerf," and "ban," and 2 women with iqs under 40 that like invisible monsters.

It really wouldn't be Player Vs. Player then, would it? What did you think it stood for? Popular Viral Photos?
-
This could get messy, Imo. Instead of changing anything, they need to just add a solo fireteam playlist. Similar to Mercenary Playlist for those that played CoD. If you wanted to play with others that were lone-wolfing it, you could join this playlist to match against them. Maybe lower it to 4v4 or 5v5 depending on how many actually would do this.

Don't try to put logic and Destiny next to each other. You'll cause a space-time rupture
-
No fps has this on console. Besides, most kids on rocket league go into standard tet theyre soloqing. Which pisses me off so bad.
-
Agreed.. I'm not the best pvp player but there are time I do quite well. Went into ib and got steam rolled by a clan. I don't mind teams performing well but my team didn't stand a chance.
-
IB should be fire team oriented
-
Because that requires competence to implement. Something bungie lacks.
