I use Xikar's 70/30 propylene glycol solution in my crystal humidifiers, most people use some kind of PG solution these. There are still a few purists who insist on using Distilled water, but I've been smoking cigars and working in the industry for years and have tried both and still prefer a PG solution. I always recommend it since propylene glycol is naturally anti-fungal. EDIT: Saw that sneaky edit you did there :)

  • Well... I thought you were talking about a cigar humidor so I changed that seeing how I can't delete post. Not many people would pick a high pg content of juice, its usually very harsh to begin with so often times people would pick a 80/20 which is a vg to pg ratio. Can't really have full vg as it becomes very liquidy. I did not know pg was an anti fungal. Nice to know!

  • Yeah, I always recommend it over water. I certainly didn't know that vape juice had such a low percentage of PG.

  • Yeah people usually prefer that low of a pg percentage. I usually use regular tap water for my humidifier because where in gods name am I supposed to get pg other than online.

  • Check with your friendly local tobacconist like me! (Tobacconist is a fancy-shmancy word for person who sells fine tobaccos). Most cigar/tobacco shops carry some kind of PG solution, though my recommendation would be Xikar's 70/30 PG solution, as anything with a higher PG content is very hard for most crystal humidifiers to absorb. Just google "cigar shop" or "tobacconist" and see if there's a shop/lounge near you. Avoid places that just say "smoke shop" though, as those are usually head shops that sell mostly bongs and glass and probably wont have what you're looking for. If you are going to use water, I always say use only distilled water. Tap water increases the chances of mold and fungus, and the chemicals/minerals in it will clog your humidifier or it can even negatively effect your cigars. Pro-tip: Most humidors come with a humidifier that has a material that looks like green foam-padding in it, don't use that and get some kind of gel crystal humidifier instead. Even if your humidor is perfectly maintained, and even with PGs natural anti-fungal properties, that green foam stuff will get mold/fungus eventually.
