Thank you Destiny community...

I'll try to keep this short. I have never done the raid. I've always been the type of person that stays relatively quiet when meeting new people. People often think I'm a jerk because I stay quiet throughout a conversation. Naturally, I didn't want to complete the raid because the thought of meeting & organizing with different people made me anxious. A shy guy like me would feel even worse when he brings his team down for not knowing how to do the raid. Then came the raid "bug" fix, with Atheon randomly teleporting guardians at the last section. That fix did it. I would never do this raid. After seeing posts on this forum about people refusing to help noobs like myself, I figured it was deservedly so. If I had done the raid before the fix, I wouldn't be a hindrance to my teammates. Flashback to yesterday. I'm here on the forums and reply to a post about user locales (where you live). I live in Oklahoma City, USA and find some other people who live in the same state. I made some local friends! Great! Always nice to see some people you can call Okla"homies" (see what I did there? :D) That night, I log on and complete the heroic daily mission. Easy enough. Then I get an invite from one of my new found friends. We start talking and I ask him what the plan is. He says, "We're gonna do the raid!" "Eff..." I think to myself. "Well, new friend... I've never done the raid..." His response? "... No problem! We'll get this done." He gets a team assembled and I nervously wait to see & gauge the reactions to having some new guy on their team. Their response? Essentially the same thing, "no problem, let's do this". Okay, I'm feeling a little confident now. We do the raid on normal difficulty from beginning to end. Did I suck it up during the raid? Hell yeah I did. I died more times than I would've liked, but the team would always come back for me. They'd revive me, I'd say "sorry" and they'd respond with "no problem" every time. This is all while laughing and just messing around (the jump puzzle in particular brought many laughs for me). Throughout the raid, they'd wait patiently for me to catch up to them, guide me to chests and teach me tricks on the way to Atheon. We finally took down Atheon (I say "we" but it was basically them) and celebrated with many a cyber high five. I told them thanks for their patience with me and they acted like it was nothing, which made the experience even more awesome. With all that said, I just want to thank these forums and this community for being awesome. Despite the few downers that sometimes make these forums frustrating, there are even more like-minded and helpful guardians who just like to play as a team. I would not have met these cool peeps had it not been for these forums, so thanks again. I'm sorry I didn't keep it short. Edited for grammar. Also, it's amazing to see such kind and helpful people on this thread. You're what makes this game so fun.
