We Need Answers NOW Bungie!

We NEED a way to upgrade year 1 Legendaries!

I'm glad that year 1 Legendaries will be OBSOLETE!

Here are the reasons why I would like year 1 legendaries to ascend in The Taken King (TTK): 1) Bungie just needs to remain consistent, but so far they keep flip-flopping on what they want to do. With The Dark Below (TDB) they tried fading-out old gear, but with House of Wolves (HoW) they took back that decision. It's a bad move to set expectations with TDB, raise hopes with HoW, and then take it all away again with TTK. 2) Ascension isn't going to hurt the players against it. If using Fatebringer and Vision isn't for you, then you simply don't have to; how others play their PVE isn't going to affect you. 3) However, I do not think year 1 legendary ascension should be easy, so that it will naturally require players to try out TTK gear before earning an ascension material to bring their year 1 gear up to TTK level. By making this material a raid-only drop would make it a real challenge to get the old gear relevant again, and would require an immersion into TTK gear in order to be effective in the new raid. 4) No, I do not want to use Fatebringer forever, or for all 10 years, but I want the option to bring it along and keep ascending it. Eliminating the old gear limits the creativity of this game. We're not playing Borderlands where a lot of the gear feels impersonal because there's millions of different guns; we're playing Destiny where the gear is very finite, and thus the gear is more personally tied to us. Also, by having all TTK gear and the year 1 gear at the same level allows more variety, and gives us the chance to keep the game fresh by going back to year 1 gear when we start feeling the monotony of TTK gear sinking in. 5) Destiny has not properly fit a correct MMO type of model, and that's good to me because this is not the type of game Bungie decided to make with Destiny. In typical MMO's it is commonly accepted (but not necessarily a rule) to leave old gear in the dust because there's both a ton of gear, and because the rarities of gear is ranked by level. Destiny just isn't that kind of game because the lack of a broad access to a large impersonal arsenal, and because they don't have this ranking system. There's other reasons of course, and they might be introducing this ranking system in TTK, but then they wouldn't be implementing it properly because there's no exotics at different levels such as level 40 exotics being better than level 20 exotics. 6) If they were going to start removing year 1 gear then they should at the very least allow the HoW gear to ascend because this gear is still new to the game, and a lot of these end game legendaries are more difficult to acquire than previous the ones that exist. I say this mainly because of the Lighthouse, and even though I've been lucky enough to make it a few times, it's a very difficult process, and it's tough to lose these guns so soon after earning them. The Scholar was the only end game legendary that I was missing, and now that I got it I didn't even have a full month to experience the gun, which is a huge downer for me; it just isn't rewarding. 7) The current weapon tuning is considered one of the worst to date due to certain weapons dominating PVP and PVE somewhat, but Auto Rifles and Fusion Rifles are getting the worst of it. There are a lot of very nice Auto/Fusion Rifles in HoW that are just ruined by the current tuning, and it's just a shame to not have the opportunity to experience these weapons at their intended strength, which is just another reason I am so for ascension. 8) Lastly, I feel that ascension is important to the legacy we have built as our Guardian. Bungie has stated that their guardian is way cooler than Master Chief, and that our gear is a bragging trophy of our time in the game. It stands for everything we've accomplished, and it lets us stand out as a seasoned Guardian who can tell about the original Queen's Wrath bounties, how Blades of Crota invaded the Earth/Moon, or how a cave dropped more loot than imaginable. Bungie has stated that we should feel this sense of pride, and carry these trophy items to symbolize our feats, yet now they want to cap our hard earned legendary gear. I feel disturbed that with this combination of comment and action is a stab in the back of their fan-base. This, in general, is my most irrelevant point, but collecting all the unique gear for every activity is what drives me to play as much a I do. I've played an event over and over based only on the fact that I was still missing 1 or 2 collector pieces from it like the new Iron Banner helmets, or Aegis Of The Kell II. By them showing me that my specifically earned gear goes out of date every DLC, then I won't be inclined to collect anymore, and thus play less. I'm not saying I'll quit because I love Destiny, and that's why I'm posting this; I'm fighting for a game that I want to play, and from the polls apparently this is how you want to play as well! With all this said, we would like answers NOW Bungie because there is a clear displeasure with the way you chose to advance Destiny, and I don't think your sacrifice system is going to cut it either. Side note: I'm a day 1 player with 1,500+ hours played, and I have 1 of each class all at level 34. I have every year 1 exotic and end-game legendary.
