Seeking S.A.B.E.R.-2 WARSAT tips

This part of the strike is really, really difficult. I just went through about five turnovers of random players on the Heroic Strike Playlist who each gave up on it. When it was the Nightfall, my fireteam of three, all on mics and strategizing cohesively, couldn't even beat it, and we tried for an hour. It's the Captain Majors. It's the snipers. It's the sheer numbers of minions swarming you from all sides. And then on top of that they add ships two-shotting you. There must be some strategy for staying alive on the WARSAT circle. Can anybody share theirs? Thanks.

  • Biggest thing you can do is snipe down the turrets on the skiffs as soon as you see them flying in. Taking ship damage along with everything else is ridiculous. If you're low, don't be afraid to leave the circle for safety. You should still have enough time to finish. Titan bubbles help a lot! Get on blessings or armor and you can let yourself breathe for a minute or 2. Finally make sure at least one person, maybe even 2, are using close range special weapons like FRs or shotguns. Snipers help at the beginning of each wave, but strong enemies are gonna get through and slam you. Finally, back to class recommendations: bubble for Titans- defense is key. Invisibility for hunters. Vanish I'm smoke is best because it helps everyone. But a blade dancer going invisible can still save a wipe. For warlocks self res is the safest. Other subclasses get more kills, but this part of the strike is about defense. Good luck!

    • I hate when people quit and then the game never match makes anyone else into the strike. I waited for a long time yesterday and it never put anyone else in so final had to quit

      • Our strat was 3 people with telesto 2 nightstalkers, 1 defender titan. Kill ship guns, laugh hysterically at the slaughter that is telesto.

      • 1 stormcaller/voidwalker. 1 nightsalker/gunslinger 1-2 defender(s) replace either of the others. I recommend a void shotgun/telesto and a void lmg/sword. As for what the titan should have, blessings with saint-14 and hopefully your lock has obsidian mind. And try to get your nightsalker to use invis smoke. It's mostly to stall it out. Takes about 2 minutes with all three of you there. Pop smoke, pop bubble and have your lock make orbs like crazy

      • It is difficult. Our strategy for nightfall was: 2 by the Warsat with void shotguns and void MG 1 hanging back with void sniper or ideally telesto The one hanging back drops the turrets on each drop ship as it comes in. Two full telesto hits does it. When that's done throw grenades, heavy, telesto into the melee around the Warsat. The two by Warsat just use cover and shotgun everything. When the second drop ship comes in the one on turret duty needs to rotate to new cover or you'll get smashed. If you can, pop a Titan bubble over the Warsat (blessing of light) at about 70-75%. I confess I did it with one regular playing partner and one random. The first random kept dieing before 25% and left after two tries. Second random joined and we did it first time. For weekly and normal strikes, you don't need the turret duty. Just use cover. You only need one by Warsat at a time. 3 is no quicker than 1. Hope you get it done!

        • For the Nightfall. Telesto. Telesto everything! It really helps taking out the drop ship turrets with Telesto.. Also try and keep moving as much as possible. Snipers must be dealt with! Took a couple of tries, but it wasn't too bad!

        • This is how me and my fire team did it. I was a hunter and the other two members where Titans. When the Warsat drops wait until the drop ships come, then have one of your Titans deploy his bubble. Then just sit inside and kill anything that comes inside. When that bubble goes the second Titan deploys bubble and again sit inside and kill anything that comes inside (helm of Saint-14 helps). By the time the other bubble disappears all I did then was go invisible and finish off what was left on the clock (not much at all) then what was left of us head for the door. The rest of the strike is pretty simple. Hope this helps. Good luck and happy hunting Guardian.

        • Defender with Saint-14's helm. must have void weapons. Wait for super, start, around the second ship start the buble, the other two have to use supers and generate enough orbs for the titan for a second bubble, and with that it's totally doable. Or two Titans.
Or even better three of them!
• For starters shoot the guns off the ship as they come in, then if your doing nightfall you want a void shotty or fusion riffle and bitch them out. If your still having trouble bring in a hunter with invis

This is a tricky spot, only tip is don't be afraid to leave the warsat, I've never had a problem with that spot until nightfall, shooting the canons off the ship's help too, easily get the first two, ships but it's trickier on the third as you are kind of overwhelmed by enemies but try if possible.

          • Was playing it on Heroic strikes last night and got Hive instead of Fallen. Seemed much easier especially as there was only 2 of us and we did it in 2 attempts. Scout rifle and a shotgun for close encounters works for me. :)

          • It's not that hard it's only level 40...not a light level requirement I did it with a friend and a random we finished at 7 minutes to spare...if it's not nightfall you shouldn't complain about the warsat. PERIOD

          • Use a rocket launcher to shoot the enemies while they are on the ship before they hit the ground. Makes it so much easier.
