just wondering.....why can't we have bots in this for when I go to friends house that doesn't have Xbox Live we could play some team deatchmatch against bots...it would be interresting i'm sure everyone has seen all the AI mods for Halo PC and they are fun to play

Im just wondering why all of you are so concerned with "levels". Levels are just a tool used for matchmaking, so that people who have "generally the same skill level" as you can play with you. Notice the word "generally". No, the levels arent always right, especially in team slayer where you can get 20 games in a row with standbyers and quiters on either team. not to mention all of the tons of other possibilites. But you don't have to let levels ruin your game. Play for the passion, the pure enjoyment of playing the game, regardless of the number next to your name. If your always worried about your levels dropping, where is the fun? Don't let others words get to you like "ha ha a level 18" or "stupid noob". As long as you think your ok, and just enjoy the game, you probably have more fun than the people who are so worried about levels.

okay, unless things have changed, playing with higher/lower level friends is not boosting. If i remember right, boosting is where you get two seperate parties filled with friends about the same level so that both parties get teamed up in matchmaking together. Then one team purposely loses to get teh other teams level up. Thats boosting, cause a friend of mine was trying it and was constantly spamming his friends with messages requesting a certain level clan.

I just got my level 25 in team slayer. I lost my first game, and my bar went down to 0%. The next day, i played a team slayer game, and came in 2nd place and my team won. The funny thing is, even now, about 18 hours later, my bar still hasnt gone up. All of the other people's bar in my party went up a lot, but mine never moved. I dont really care about level, but i thought i would be a good guy and bring it to your attention.

got online to play today and ive been booted 3 times for no apparent reason ! wanna shed some light on this one smart guy ? and why cant i boot people who are purposely betraying me ?

And it does not currently have HD DVD it is using a standard DVD tray, though if the fans scream for their HD DVD format they may get it and have to pay an extra 100 dollars per machine for it. The thing is that with the way they program games, and I don't know all the specifics, the current DVD discs are being maxed out, so how can they have longer better games in higher resolutions on small storage spaces? I'm thinking that they are going to have to have 2 discs for all games, one for downloading content to your hardrive, the other for basic game operations, like they do for some computer games. I would also like to voice my opinion that setting up a temporary (20 minutes +) ban of anyone who leaves a game prematurely would be a great idea and would severly cut down on cheating, but that is more for Xbox Live than for Bungie to figure out, and it would also mean that anyone who's modem is broken would be getting banned frequently, but some people just need to get new hardware. I would also like to say that if you are posting into an official forum and don't know what it is, please don't post and ask what it's for, that is stated in the forum description. And if you don't know how to spell something, open up your word processor, attempt to spell it, and then use spell correction. If this seems like too big a hassle for you, then don't be offended if it seems like too big a hassle for Frankie and Bungie to try and decipher your post and wade through your typos just to tell you that you can't be banned for one person leaving you feedback. Get a Whaaaambulance. Finally I would like to say thanks to Bungie for taking the time to answer some questions, which they don't have to do, and for taking their time in making great games that look and play great. Also I would like to see a Mister Chief playing Halo 2 against Frankie, and wonder what the score might be if they could?

Hey man, just read your weekly update and wanted to add my two cents to the quitting problem. One hardcore solution would be to make the penalty for quitting something like dropping a full level. I know this sounds harsh, but people quit when they are losing. How are you going to get any better if you quit? That said it would suck if my wife went into labor and I got penalized so here is the solution. Make there be no quit option. If someone wants to quit they can turn off their xbox and then turn it on and sign back in. The extra hassle would probobly cut down on impulse wuitting. Just a thought. Keep up the good work. Love the sight, love the game.

Can you change your gamertag without getting a new account? I don't like my name. When I first signed up I thought it was just going to be an account name so I just chose one like a login account name, I didn't think it would be my "display name" in the games...

My problem is choise, when I enter matchmaking I can't choose which kind of game I can play because I for example like OddBall very match but it's like almost never in matchmaking or king of the hill I would like to have more choise when choosing a game. Is this possible to be put in a future update and why wasn't it included in the game at first?

I'm wondering where you go to ask questions that are answered in the Weekly what's update? My main question is what's going on with being "booted" from a game when there are no betrayals. I've had this happen in Team Training mostly. What causes it?

i like the idea when someone quits, and it is 3 on 4, when some one on the team of 4 dies have them wait out till one of the other 3 die, making it 3 on 3 ^^ that is good idea ^^

Simple. If they are quitting just because they don't feel like playing that map, or they are losing, chances are they plan to start a new match right away. Don't let them, thus deterring them from quitting. If they are quitting for a legitimate reason: wife goes into labour, spilled hot coffee on yourself, phone call, whatever... chances are you don't plan to get right back in immediately after you quit, so a 10-20 minute lock out is not a big deal. What do you think? Will Bungie people read this post or should I email my suggestion to someone directly?

What's the problem, and you need to fix it!! I've been tormented by this for many a month now, and i've lost several levels because of this. PLease repair the situation soon!

i have a suggestion about the quitting situation.if someone quits you can put "force even teams" so there wont be a difference in the number of players at one time.i think that would be more fair. GT: Y Even Try.check out my stats.

bugnie...bungie...bungie... im ashamed of you. why cant you frix the easiest glitch? this is probaly the 5th time ive complained about this. the problem is that i will be playing a game with friends on live then on my screen it says something like bob betreyed joe and bob commited suicide. the weird thing is, it says i get booted from the game. one question forwhat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why do i get booted when sme crackhead betrayes the people? WHY!!!!!! but nots the worst part , the worst part is if they win my stast go down and if they lose my stats go down! thats just f***in wrong!! please bungie fix this propblem and make halo two a better game for everyone who experiences this!

Is there any way to preview thew new maps that are coming out?

Frankie, the good Ol' Bill Gates of Microsoft said that Microsoft would release Halo 3 as a kind of, "In your face Sony!!!" for the release of PS3. Does this mean that Bungie is currently working on Halo 3, in order to have it finished by the time Sony will release PS3? Is there any information you can give us?

i played a game of skirrmish with a friend, so we we were looking for 6 players to start. the two players that had been placed on our team had used standby so i quit the game but i need to know if that gives me a chance to get banned for getting placed in a game were stand by was used.

i totally agree how can u not catch the 1# player in head to head thats actually kind of funny though its not cool for the people that play that i think they should bann him and kick him off the boards i personally hate cheaters god they should just all die a very pain ful death !

I was looking at the leader board and its clear that some of the people on the leader board are cheaters. For example the leader in head to head ELITExGUNNER clearly used boosting to get to the lvl he is he player like 10 games in a row with halos elite and won every one either 10-2 or 10-4. I was just wondering how you could miss this and why are they still on the leader board. I mean its crazy that the number one player on head to head cheats and you miss it. I mean if you dont catch the #1 player who do you catch? You keep saying that you have all this technology to catch anyone who cheats and yet the first player on head to head clearly cheats and you don't even catch him. [Edited on 5/24/2005]
