Fellow Guardians and SMRT members: I am happy to announce that today marks 5 days until The Taken King releases. With how new and awesome 2.0 made the game feel, I can't imagine how much more all of the new content will blow us away. But we are all on the Hype Train already. So I instead want to lay it out for those of us who may want to maximize their efficiency in preparing. [i]*generic personal trainer voice*[/i] It all starts with my three step plan! 1) [b]FINISH YOUR DAMN TRIUMPHS[/b] Are you a day one player with incomplete Triumphs?! Shame on you! Did you just hit level cap today (trust me, it’s easy now)? Get your Triumphs! Seriously, our magnanimous overlords at Bungie graciously extended the deadline for Triumph completion to the last possible moment- September 14th. That means you have plenty of time. The bosses are all easy kills, and you've got a whole clan to back you up! (Not to mention that this week's Skolas modifiers are especially generous.) Yet to collect all the Golden Chests? http://destinychesthunter.net/ Missing some public events? http://destinypublicevents.com/ Not finished all the story elements (The Wakening, The Black Garden, Capturing Skolas on Venus)?! Well they now come in quest form (or you could join a clan member who has the missions)! Not done enough Crucible? Clan members are on nearly every night. Plus, there’s all those new maps and a game mode to try out! Don't delay! That sweet emblem and bragging rights over anyone who didn't play or finish year 1 are yours for the taking! 2) [b]RACISM SUCKS[/b] Are you still a one or two class scrub? Do you want something new to do that will actually be useful when TTK launches? Make a character for each class you don’t have. Don’t have a Hunter? Make a sweet Golden Gun assassin or an Arc Blader that can now make [i]6 whole orbs[/i] instead of two or three on a good day. Or maybe you’ve never experienced the joy of -blam!-ing up and dying…only to come back to life in a blaze of glory! Make a Sunsinger Warlock and enjoy Bungie’s favorite class. Whatever you’re missing, fill in the gaps. There is now a plethora of class-specific content, and more is coming with TTK. Enjoy it! 3) [b]EDGE THAT SHIT[/b] Are you a member of a faction? Maybe you just really like the Cryptarch and Vanguard? Either way, get them close, but give them no cigars. Why? Because, once TTK drops, your marks turn into commendations you can turn in for faction rep, and you can finish off that Vanguard or Cryptarch level super fast and get some Taken King loot. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. [i]The Gunsmith has new guns to test![/i] (More like Funsmith, amiright?) Just go over to good ol’ Banshee and grab all those neat, new weapons. Though, I would suggest reading this [url=http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3k9r2l/field_test_weapons_week_1_guide]Reddit post[/url] about how all this week's Gunsmith stuff works. In case you’re too lazy, here’s the important part: [i]Make sure you do the Nightfall first.[/i] You can’t hit rep rank 1 without it. Now, I would like to point out that: A) I am in no way responsible for sleep lost, injuries incurred, sodium overdose, or anything else that comes from and abundance of 2.0 and TTK hype.
