Halo 2 Worldwide Tournament : USA
The Halo 2 Worldwide Tournament is a global event spanning all 24 regions where Xbox Live is offered. Each regional champion will clash in a worldwide showdown for the crown of World's Best Halo 2 Player as well as a bounty of cool prizes.
The U.S. qualifier portion is set to begin next week. Player who are interested in competing should hustle and get registered ASAP. Anyone 18 and over can register by either visiting a Gamestop retail store or stopping by www.GameStopStores.com. Time is ticking so hurry up and get signed up if you want a shot at the title.
What's at stake? Well, besides the biggest of all bragging rights (only ONE person can ever claim they are THE Halo 2 World Champion), there are plenty of prizes up for grabs. Regional winners will receive a limited edition half-size Master Chief statue, a personalized Xbox Live Halo 2 Championship sweatshirt, a plaque, a Samsung Camcorder AND $500 in cash. WOW. The overall global champion will aslo receive a 50' Samsung Flat Screen DLP HDTV, a Samsung DVD Player/Recorder, a personalized Xbox Live Halo 2 World Champion trophy featuring a 24k gold Halo 2 game disc AND $1,500 in cash. Damn, I wonder if Bungie employees are permitted to enter....

I entered it anway because I hope if I do good and bungie sees it, then they will make an exemption because my parents said that I would be able to participate. For all the people who say that they dont let minors play because they dont want awhole bunch of kids screaming and yelling, thats why you do it on Xbox Live first! Not in an actual tournment, that way you dont have to deal with small children. But I can't wait, even though I am a minor, I am still going to give it a shot.

those level 42's that you are crying about arent even 42's they standbyed to get that level duh the only level that was actually earned was a 29 and that was without standby so all of those -blam!- standby people will probably be stuck at like 16's and never be any better because of the fact that they have to cheat just to feel good about themselves knowing that they just raped somebody

How is a 50 foot TV going to fit in a house? A door is about 10 feet tall. Will they put it on a really huge truck or attach it to a helicopter and cut a hole in your roof to put it in?

Ok, for one, minors can enter if their guardian signs a sheet thing. Check the website. Two, it isn't online in the sense that you will be at your house cheating to win. Three, you will have to go to some game center thing that is local to you. And four, it isn't 50 feet god dammit it is like 50 inches.

Rated M doesnt stop us so called minors from kicking your ass now does it. There are kids who are like 10 yrs. old who can beat the crap out of 30 yr old's who still live with their mom's. I agree on how it's just an easy way for the elderly to think they're good when they're not even going up against the best people out there. So you need to think out that. The tournament is going to be based on those who level the highest in the allotted period of time right...? That really sucks for someone like me, who works a bunch and then comes home to a bunch of people playing custom games. I'll never get enough time on my hands to increase my level enough to be the HIGHEST.

I'm just stating what it is. As far as getting my ass kicked by minors. Please, I've been playing games since I could pick up a controller. I can hold my own against virtually anyone.

OK heres the deal for all those too lazy to do their own digging or research even though the entire internet is right in front of most of you.... It IS an online tourney that will coincide with the stat reset on or around may 2nd (quoting xbox.com official rules) and runs through may 30th, once your gamertag is registered either through the site or through the store, you can optimatch rumble pit games for the entire month of may, at the end of may, the highest ranked player, who is also registered for the tourney will be declared the US champion and go on to compete with the other regional champions. Apparently they will be watching for multi account users too, so pick one tag and stick with it. the gamestop link is picky about cookies so keep that in mind when you try to register online, now will all the children stop whining and acting tough for 5 minutes to absorb all this? probably not

You cant be considered the best unless you play the best so why 18 and older I understand it's a mature rated game but everyone knows that children play this game like 6 year old Lil Poison and he is a pro. So for me that tournament is stupid dont get me wrong but I am not the master at Halo 2 but to be the best you have to BEAT the best. I am 15 years old Gamer tag is Shadow Blade888 and I'm a level 13 so I'm not pro material but other younger people are so please fix this stupid rule hell make it parent approval for people under the age of 18.

Its called worldwide because the USA winner will go on to face winners from other regions of the planet with xbox live access, and the kids can play, they will just be disqualified when the final selection is made at the end of the tourney maybe they will still give lower prizes to younger players, but either way, asking why under 18 cant win isnt going to make them change their rules guys, complaining about it wont change anything.....except the page count to this thread half of all the posts here already are kids complaining about age limit

When i was reading the rules and conditions on xbox.com it said void in MD on one of the first lines. I was wondering if that means gamers in MD won't be able to join in on the tournament [Edited on 4/28/2005]

The Samsung 50 inch DLP TV that they are offering as a prize sucks. There is a delay when you play video games on it. I bought one a couple weeks before Halo 2 came out and thought it would be the best TV ever, but it turned out to be complete junk since there is a delay when playing video games. When I called Samsung to report that I had a defective TV, they said they admitted that they had a problem with DLP TV's when playing video games. I went on to buy a 50 LCD TV from Hitachi that play perfectly. Not a bad prize as long as you are not going to playing video games on it.
