Oyster

I'm repeatedly getting the "OYSTER" error while trying to download the newest update. Here are the steps I've tried so far. I'm on Xbox 360 1. Delete system cache and reboot Xbox 2. Connect wired connection to router. 3. Reboot router. 4. Reboot modem and router 5. Connect directly to modem and reboot 6. Delete the game and "reinstall." Now I'm stuck without the game installed. When I launch the game I get "Transferring Game Content..." which is 5.51GB and "Downloading Update" which is 324 kb. Both of these are on the same screen. The "Transferring" part works fine, and usually gets to around 4 GB before I get the oyster error. The "Downloading" part never budges.

  • It sounds like your download connection is being dropped during the update process. I would recommend monitoring your modem for errors immediately before you encounter the Oyster error. You may also want to contact your ISP to determine if they can detect any issues that would be causing periodic disconnects.
