Edited by Clickmonster: 11/10/2015 6:25:19 AMAmalgamates Mainly because say for the very end of the game, Undertale is a pretty charming and joking sorta game, and then you see this shit For the same reason I find creepy things far more unsettling in non-horror games just to the massive change of pace that's usually required to have it occur.
Also those mother-blam!-ing Kackle things that chase you around that haunted level in Donkey Kong Country 2

And hearing those splicers sing the Jesus song in Bioshock was pretty spooky
The first time I saw the flood in halo I was terrified.

Actually, that first time you encounter Hive in that pitch dark room on Earth in one of the early story missions. *Walks into dark room* *Expects a small fallen sneak attack* *Gets cluster -blam!-ed by screaming glowing zombie things* *Throws controller*

That blind Berserker thing from Gears of War 1 that thing scared me so bad as a kid.

Kid screamers from dying light

Anyone who has played Elite Dangerous will look at this and see just how -blam!-ing lucky I got here. If my angle was different I could have jumped in through the star on the right and wound up sandwiched between the pair, ripped out of supercruise and burning to death. I've since learned to identify these systems before jumping. Good job too as I've had a couple of NOPE moments tonight. Space is so beautiful but SO full of nope :(

Sunbreakers.

the alien in alien Isolation. never finished that game, only got to the med lab, watched the rest on youtube.. Spent most of my time on that game hiding under desks bricking it.
-
Death claws for sure.

Apex develjho. Nothing will ever be as terrifying once you face that. Death claws with look like cuddly teddybears and the entire enemy roster from a souls game will look like a box of kittens.

The skeleton plant things and undead werewolves in Bloodborne.
