I doubt leaving matches makes you get banned, and I don't mean by switching characters or whatever other way, I mean just going to orbit

Agreed. That is not how you should get banned. At least I don't believe it should. Ya it sucks for the teammates you leave behind, but sometimes things just aren't going well and you need a new lobby.
