I agree. Look at witcher 3. It's nothing special. Generic plot crappy controls amateur gameplay and people act like it's masterpiece. It's a good game but nothing that great.
I just got a ps4 after no PlayStation since ps2 and the last of us is one of those games i felt i was missing out on, so far it's a survival horror in the same vein as dead space and resident evil 4 and on. Not really scary though. Not saying it's bad but it's not as good as the hype.

You're giving flak to reviews because you can't separate personal feelings with objectively looking at the quality of a game. And this isn't just directed at you. The two games you mentioned are nothing short of being outstanding games. By all means if they aren't your cup of tea that's fine. But to criticize reviews for giving outstanding games outstanding reviews is silly. Or the opposite this will happen where so so games get so so reviews.
