Whats a World boss?

I support World Bosses. I also support higher level patrols. New World Type Bosses should be made. Edit 1: Please read the whole post before commenting please. And they should do like Star Wars the Old Republic did it, have them in specific areas on the map, and not Random, instead having a "Button" of sorts that activates the World Boss. Much like the pile of bones in the Ol' Loot Cave. But it would require increasing the patrol Guardians from 3-6 but preferably 9. World Bosses in most games are meant to be taken down by very very large crews, basically they are meant to be taken down by all players in the current world. And on say an earth patrol, you really dont want to be hashing out with a World level boss with a bunch of level 5's at your side. Oh!! Even better idea!! A new Patrol button, World Boss Patrol, party size 6, Level Requirement of 32, This way all people in the instance are at least 32. Once the "button" is pushed an alert goes out to all people on the planet. "The World boss has been awakened, backup your fellow Guardians!" Giving all players in the instance time to get there, and it will require a minimum of 14 players to take him down within a decent amount of time. 6 players could do it, but it would take forever. And not some silly bullet sponge, A legit boss. A giant Ogre, bigger than Phogoth. An even more powerful Gatelord. And no Gimmick crap. No Death Containment bubbles, setting fire to the world, none of that. Minor enemy spawns little peons that normally spawn there, all red bar. No Yellows. Also the Bosses should be Red skull bosses, something 3-6 Guardians simply cannot take down by themselves. Areas for them to have their Spawns: Moon -Hellmouth, MF climbs right out and onto that platform. Venus -Over where VoG Starts, MF either A. Smashes right out of the Vault, or B. Cutscene of a Giant Vex gate opening at the bottom of the cliff and he climbs up. Earth - Forgotten Shores, A. Comes up out of the ocean right there starts wreaking Havoc. B. Ketch Lands and drops off the Big Bad. Mars - Mars is a Tough one for me as im not sure of a very good place for a world Boss there. But there is all my idea for it. and i apologize for the length. Please add you comments and ideas below. I feel like this would breathe a lot of new life into patrols for higher level players. Once the level caps increase a third Patrol option should be added increasing the levels of all enemies on the planet again including the level of the world bosses. Edit 2: For those of you who dont know what a world boss is, there are some great videos on youtube, and information to be found on google to give you much more in depth idea of what this is, normall i would provide all that information but it would make this post far too long. Here is his post. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/128964822/0/0 Edit 5: By instituting a lvl 26 and up patrol they could bring back the Blades of Crota and have them there, and by instituting a 30 and up, you have a place for wolves, by instituting 34 and up you have a place for the new TTK one. Appalled i hadnt thought of this before as it keeps special things from each expansion relevant to the player and providing them places to do it while leveling through that expansion. Edit 6: A lot of people are telling me they are adding something similar to world bosses in Court of Oryx. Until they reveal this i will not say it is a world boss, but i will say player activated events is a start. Hopefully if it goes well, they will add more in an update to the other worlds. I hope it is done right and is epic but i am reserving full opinion until i physically play one. If they do and its right i hope this post gains even more support and grows even more, maybe we can get it all that we want here!

    • For the earth we could have some giant mechanical machine that the fallen have taken over. For the moon we could have an ogre that climbs that out of the hell mouth and starts attacking everything in its sight. (Even the hive) For Venus we could have an ahamkara that the vex have transformed into their own teleporting beast. And for Mars we could have a giant sand worm that moves below the sand.

              Nice idea,however that wont happen ,and if it does it will be DLC for only €40.00 ,and you will pay for it dont you? Because as soon you see it, you will start throwing your money at the screen.

                Destiny is to casual for world bosses. Patrol is pointless, and would require a complete overhaul to make it relevant. You want epic world boss battles? Go play Borderlands :) How would they reward you for beating a world boss? Engrams? Materials? There is no inventory space for that. Make it relevant drops and people will farm them and say F.U. to a large portion of the current content. Bungie missed the mark with this game. All you can do is hope they learned their lesson and change the direction of the franchise with future installments. All you will get with Destiny 1.0 is rehashed content packaged in a download, and marketed/sold as an "expansion". I don't think the current game can be expanded much more than its current state.

                • What about something like a scavenger hunt, like the Eris Morins questline but all at once. You get a bounty at the beginning of the week that describes a location, you go there and there's something that points to another, and another etc. At the end of that it sends you to another planet repeats, u guys make a limit idc. At the end is a boss, pull something out of the lore, kill it, loot The reason for this is so people who have been playing cab get into the game. It seems like bungie only wants new people to buy and play the game they don't care about the people that have been playing it. The riddles would be more apparent to some but if you play enough you would be able to figure out what it's talking about. Make the riddles path personal. You're a guardian on a hunt for amazing loot.

                      Sounds like an idea, but to be fair? Destiny is built on a challenge of 3 and raiding with 6 people. I'd say tone it down since people are finding it hard just to get 6 people online at the same time. Substitution for your idea: A known area well off the beaten path randomly spawns in. If three guardians are in the area? You can damage it. Otherwise? It has a darkness cloaked shield and is immune to all forms of damage. Think of this in terms of the Fallen Ketch area being accessible through the caves and the caves will now feature level 32 enemies when the beast is spawned in. You could also already utilize the cosmodrome kill the target bounty more often idea. A minotaur or hydra spawning in at the Gate Lord spawn. Besides that? The Cabal are good to go personally. We know they are more militarized as it stands, but another tank in that area would be a welcome challenge with high level enemies. The Fallen? We already have those due to the reef bounties technically and they are scattered all over the place. We can simply keep hunting down the various factions since the story regarding them is pretty much concluded: The strike on earth got rid of the House of Devils leader, Septiks Prime. We cleared out Skolas and the house of kings in the storyline right now. And the disarray being seen? The fact they are in the Hive acropolis/everywhere but Mars? I don't doubt we will be enjoying anything along this line if they do it for the Fallen though so I'll vote yes.

                                  Sounds like a great idea! Though the "no gimmick crap" I don't agree with. The "gimmicks" you where mentioning earlier where mechanics to a fight. Now I know it would be very annoying and could potentially become overwhelming with too many and confusing mechanics, but I'm tired of a bullet sponge boss with one or two basic attacks. I think it should be what a prison of elders boss is like, more complicated than an average bullet sponge strike boss, but not as complex as a raid boss. Just something to spice it up in my opinion. Maybe you enjoy the type of bosses where all you do is shoot and not worry about other types of distractions, though personally I enjoy some mechanics that are a little out of the ordinary.
