Nerf or remove Gjallarhorn!
For too long the Gjallarhorn has been a crutch for PvE players! All I can see on the recruitment channel LFG's is 'must have maxed out Gjallarhorn' it's been this way for quite some time! Bungie need to step up, either nerf this weapon or even better the addition of new go to weapons with a slight increase in drop rate. There needs to be more variation, similarly just as PvP has Thorn, PvE has the Gjallarhorn. Why are we being forced into using these 'go to' weapons! Good job Bungie!
This may look like a whine post (and you might be right) but you know deep down I'm stating a legitimate fact!

All kidding aside, I know the pain of not having gally. I just found groups that didn't care. Took longer, but I found them. Now with the update, there's a ton good launchers. Get a good one with tracking and do some Crota raids. Either find a gally or a Hunger of Crota. I was never turned away by a group doing Hard Crota when I had my HoC. Keep doing hard raids, nightfall, and PoE until you get it. I've been seeing it drop a lot lately, but never from a strike which you seem to play the most.

Nerf a weapon that I don't have to make it harder for everyone instead of grinding it out to get the weapon in the first place like everyone else did? That has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever read on these forums and these forums are already filled to the brink with stupid posts. Wow! The sense of entitlement in this game is unbelievable What this post really says is "I want everything to be handed to me so I don't have to go through what every other player in the game went through"

8 RepliesIt's a crutch for pve? Let me get this straight. You want to nerf a weapon you don't have so it makes pve harder for me? How does that help you? It doesn't make the content easier for you. Why do you care how easy anything is for me when it effects you zero? These people don't make sense. I would be more understanding of a cry to have Poe or the raids made easier to accommodate the people without the weapon instead of take something away from the people that do.

Because they rely solely on it, they tend not to try as hard and die more often or just plain suck and are trash. The only Gally lobby I ever joined was the skolas solar burn, but it was with people I actually knew and we just all happen to have one. But don't be a whiny kid and make it harder for everyone else. I frequently use hunger of Crota or thunderlord and they are good alternatives, especially at 365.

Man you seem really salty that you dont have a Ghorn. I just got mine. And I was never this rude about not having one. Just because you dont have it doesn't mean it needs a nerf. Solution. Xur should sell it again. Stop asking for pointless nerfs because you dont have something or cant counter it.

I agree that there is an issue among the haves and have nots. Players without this weapons have a much harder time getting into groups. This is no different then a very op PvP weapon like vex when it first came out those without it complained it was op. Personally I would rather just have Xur sell it again then any nerf i bought my first one and got another from a night fall. For the people that constantly restrict groups to members having this one weapon understand this will only lead to ppl asking for a nerf. If they can't find a group because rng won't give them the weapon then they will want it nerf so they can get a chance at groups. Gjallarhorn makes content much easier but not having one person in the group not using it won't kill u.

Its not a crutch, I'd be fine without it. Example, I'm a weight lifter (I'm really not, but pretend). I'm good at lifting weights. I take roids, and i can lift the same amount of weight faster and easier. Ghorn is like the roids. It makes things faster and easier.

This weapon is not a crutch. You are just angry because you dont have one. The fact is is that many people who own it dont use it, especially when there are modifiers. I beat skolas this week. No Gjallrhorn... void burn... it would be usless. Solar burn uou might say, I know many people who dont use gjallrhorn so that they can use icebreaker. Even vex for that matter. If your saying that its a crutch then so are all exotics. As for the matter of RNG get used to it we all go through it. I have dealt with it since the beta. Its just the way MMORPGs are. I have spent countless hours grinding to get thing just to start over again. Skolas last week is the perfect example. I spent about 23 hours on Skolas alone and never beat him. Another example is crota normal. I have beaten it countless times still no hunger of crota. But I still have to try... thats just the way this game works. If you get fed up with it play a different one and then come back. We all know the struggle. Just dont be a bitch about it. And if you really think bungie would remove a gun, you are insane. Exotics are exotic for a reason. Otherwise they are not worth having.
